  • My dog likes!

    By on

I only ordered this as a replacement as I couldn’t get the Dave’s Restricted canned food as it was unavailable for about a month. My Shih Tzu has kidney stone issues and it’s difficult to find a low phosphorus low protein canned food without a prescription. This food in my opinion sets up really hard after refrigeration unlike the Dave’s. My dog doesn’t seem to mind it. He eats it right up. Good to have an alternative when I couldn’t get the Dave’s.

  • Made an easy transition

My black lab is almost 14 and just started showing the early signs of kidney disease. Our vet recommended a low protein wet food. Our lab has always been very very sensitive and tends to get sick if you change her food. We did the slow transition and not only does she love the food but it didn't seem to make her sick at all! After a couple weeks on this new food I can see she is enjoying it and seems to be a little more perky! This food is fairly priced compared to the kidney care food I was looking at.

  • My dog eats it.

My dog was recently diagnosed with renal disease, the vet recommended trying NEO since it would be cheaper then a prescription food. I thought we would give the wet food a try since she grew up eating dry food. She likes it I add little warm water to break it down as it is chunky. My only negativity is that it doesn't have feeding directions on the can, it so I had to refer to the other HI-TOR food.

  • Loves it so far!

    By on

My dog with kidney failure hates the prescription food and will only intermittently eat some raw food. We stumbled upon this and decided to try it. So far, she absolutely loves it. She has been begging for more, which is a rare behavior for dogs with kidney disease.

  • Cheaper and Just as good

My female pit is extremely picky when it comes to her food. I was giving her Purina NF and i decided to try this due to the price. I need something a bit more reasonably priced but w the same quality. My dog loves this food. Id recommend over Purina

  • Satisfied Customer

Compared to other low-protein foods, this one is the best in my experience. My 13 yr old Rat Terrier is in renal failure and would not eat the k/d. I mix this food with cooked Tilapia and he loves it.

  • It really works!

My dog loves it and I saw a real improvement since he started to eat this! Only "negative", I wish they would have a 24 cans package so maybe it would be a little cheaper.

  • It's cheaper than science diet and my dog likes it!

This was a great find for me. It is a kidney specific diet, no prescription needed, less money than hills and my dog likes it. I also bake this as treats for her too.

  • He ate it, but it isn't his favorite

    By on

For those of us who have dogs with kidney disease, we all know what a struggle it can be to get our pooches to eat because it makes them not hungry. We started off strong with the Hi Tor food, but my foster dachshund decided this isn't his favorite. I would definitely recommend trying this for your dog if they require a prescription diet because the price is so wonderful, but he prefers a wetter formula.
