Description

Give your pet freedom to roam with the High Tech Pet Products MS-5 Waterproof Microsonic Collar for HTP Power Pet Doors. Combing a good ol’ fashioned love of pets with superior technology, this collar works with the High Tech Pets Automatic Door. While traditional dog doors leave your home vulnerable to intruders, this collar allows the door to remain locked tight until your pet is ready to go out. Emitting a directional ultrasonic code, it gives your pet access to the backyard when he needs it, while keeping your home safe and sealed tight. And the ultra-rugged design can withstand the most active pets!

Key Benefits
  • Lightweight, battery-operated electronic collar for dogs and cats that operates the High Tech Pet Automatic Door.
  • Emits a directional, ultrasonic code to unlock the pet door and give your dog access to the yard while keeping your home secure.
  • State-of-the art design provides a stronger signal and maintains better accuracy over all temperature ranges.
  • Immersible in water for short periods of time, so it’s safe for use in heavy rain or snow.
  • The extra-rugged design is designed to stand up to the most active pets, keeping the speaker fully enclosed. One size fits most.

MS-5 Waterproof Collar for HTP Power Pet Door

    By 2RescueDogs on Jul 18, 2020

I’m really glad that they made the snapping collar instead of the metal hooks that you have to weave the collar in and out of however it’s very flimsy. I’ve had the other collars for years and I’ve asked for this style but I’m hoping it doesn’t break when I’m not home. Just wondering if it should’ve been made in a stronger material instead of the plastic and the collar maybe a tad thicker. It is working fine and there are no problems but I’ve only had it for a short period of time hopefully it will be great!

Transmitter works OK but requires costly custom battery; ribbon collar is BAD

By DavidK on Apr 4, 2020

My beagles have been lovin' the High Tech pet door since 2012. The sutomatic door itself has required little maintenance, other than occasionally (every couple of years) opening it up to dry out the inside after very humid or rainy weather, and to lubricate the mechanism when it gets squeaky. Regarding the transmitter collar, the transmitter itself has worked well. This MS-5 model has vast design improvements over previous versions, to help prevent moisture and dirt from getting into the electronics that can cause the transmitter to fail until the insides are cleaned and dried out. Note that the transmitter is continuously active, so the battery needs to be replaced every 8 weeks or so, My beagles have been lovin' the High Tech pet door since 2012. Note that the transmitter is continuously active, so the battery needs to be replaced every 8 weeks or so, regardless of how often it's used to open the door. The nylon "ribbon" collar included with the transmitter is flimsy (it allows the transmitter to flop around), doesn't have a quick-release latch, and only accepts narrow collar widths. I throw the included one away and instead use a heavy-duty plastic tie-wrap to secure the transmitter to an ordinary dog collar from the pet store -- those collars have a rugged quick-release clasp. So now it's easy to take the collar off the dog. One last plea to the marketing folks at High Tech Pet: For the love of Benji, please stop requiring us to use your silly, needlessly-customized CR2430 batteries! … more

    Good product

By Cookie on Mar 17, 2020

This fob is better than the old one. These fobs only use hitech batteries which do not last as long as other batteries. Have to use their collar as well. Maybe they need to change the way you attach the fob so you can use a larger collar.

    Great company

By Shannon on Apr 2, 2020

10 out of 10 would order again. Great prices, great service. Ordered even during the quarantine and only waited a few days extra. Will always order my animal supplies here.

    Good receiver but...collar not.

By Janet on Jan 14, 2020

This door really works but my dogs easily chew up each others receivers. They learned to go in and out together if one receiver is out but now both receivers are gone. We have had to buy at least 5 more in the last year. We have tried attaching with wires, zip ties, etc. It would be so helpful if they changed the style of the receiver and the way it attaches so we can modify. Just needs to be tougher. I usually don't find the chewed off receiver on our 2 acres--they are everywhere.

We love this collar and related door

By SandiA on Nov 20, 2019

This was a replacement collar for our dog to open her doggie door. We bought the door about 18 month ago! It works very well! It allows our dog to go out when she needs to and still allows us to turn it off and back on if we have company, etc. Love it and highly recommend

Like the door, but the collar is cheap

By Elise on Jun 2, 2019

We bought the MS-5 for the waterproof claim. It isn’t. We’ve dried it out once after a dip in the pond. The internal components are basically exposed, rather than silicone protected, and water seeps in the screw hole. They also come on a cheap webbed collar smaller than 1/2 inch, making the clasp a pain to operate. The company could make a few improvements.

    Ordered In March

By Read on Apr 30, 2019

This was a late Christmas gift in March from my mom and it's already broken. It was on a 10 year old Boston Terrier who doesn't do much during the day. I'm not sure how it broke because he's been napping all day. I can't afford another one right now so my dog will just have to go without and my dog door will be unused during the humid Houston summer. I would not recommend this door to a friend because of the cheap collars. They have active dogs. I did my research on automatic dog doors and there are others I would recommend to them first for this reason.

Electronic Dog Collar for doggie door

By cacalci on Jun 3, 2019

High Tex electronic door. Great door and now this new waterproof collar. I have 3 dogs and with having Dr appointments this door / collars I don’t have to worry about the dogs having to wait till I come home to go to the bathroom.
