Description

The High Tech Pet Products PX-1 Power Pet Fully Automatic Pet Door offers the freedom that your small pets want with the security that you need. Because traditional doggie doors leave your home vulnerable to intruders, stray animals, and weather, this state-of-the-art pet door opens only with the sensor from the coordinating High Tech Pet Microsonic Collar. As your pet approaches, the door quickly and quietly opens upwards, meaning hesitant pets no longer have to push through swinging doors. Not only will this encourage use, but it also increases security with a kick-proof design. The automatic deadlock keeps it extra-secure, and the custom settings give you total control.

Key Benefits
  • Motor-driven pet door automatically opens upwards instead of outwards with the High Tech Pet Microsonic Collar. No pushing to open!
  • Made from bulletproof resin with an automatic deadbolt locking feature for superior security against intruders.
  • 4-way control with in-only, out-only, full-access, or closed-and-locked options lets you set your pet's level of accessibility.
  • Opens only when pet is approaching and dual-range controls allow you to set independent inside and outside activation distances.
  • Airtight, weatherproof, windproof closure cannot be kicked out and is easily mounted flush to the wall. Fits dogs and cats up to 30 pounds.

BEST PET DOOR IN THE WORLD

    By on

I’ve had my PX-1 power pet door for about 12 years. It’s lasting through 2 dogs, Morgan (lean long terrier/poodle mix) at 33 lbs; and now Jasper at 18.5 lbs (cavapoo). THIS IS THE BEST PET DOOR IN THE WORLD. There are coyotes and other animals in our neighborhood, we live adjacent to the Santa Monica mountains. I never worry about my dog’s safety with his High Tech Power Pet Door and Radio Collar! We also have a fence around our property. But even if an animal sneaks in, they Can’t get in the house. ONLY my dog can get in and out with his radio collar. I turn the door off at night. And I like that it makes a sound I can hear, so I know where he is. Great door, customer service fixed problem

    By on

We’ve had this door for just over a year now, and it’s awesome. We have a cat that goes in and out in and out all day long, so his battery runs out faster than the dog. But I feel like I’ve only had to change the battery twice. The door doesn’t close fast enough to keep the second cat (who doesn’t have a sensor) from timing it just right to get out, but she gets out less than if it were a regular dog door. We had an issue during the high humidity of the NC summer, where the door would get stuck going half way down and then go back up over and over. But I contacted the company and they recommended loosening the screws on the outer panel and that fixed the problem. I guess the swelling from the humidity made the door catch as it was coming down and think that it was hitting something. But loosening the frame avoided that. Anyways, all in all, we’re very happy with it. It is in a covered area, leading onto a covered porch, and installed in a door, not a wall. You’ll have to keep buying batteries, but I look at it as much cheaper than paying a dog walker! And a small price to pay for a cat who was always on the wrong side of the door! … more

    Don't do it!

    By on

This door was somewhat convenient when first installed, but I quickly found that the transmitter didn't always work, which left my dog inside or outside at times. However, with the first hard rain, this door became a disaster. The door flap leaked water all over my floor, both under the flap and down through the body of the dog door. I didn't discover the flooding until a large puddle had developed, warping and splintering my hardwood. I spent two hours on my knees mopping with towels and trying to seal things with duct tape as the rain continued to flood in under the flap opening. When I called the company, I was told that, since the door had been purchased over 90 days prior, that "the credit card company won't let us do a refund so we can't." I'm out the cost of the purchase, hiring a contractor, and having it installed, and now I have to buy a new door and have it put in, as well as repairing my cupped, splintering flooring. They claim on their website that "No problem goes unsolved, ever!" but my problem clearly has been left to. My advice is to try another brand of dog door. … more

Basement remodel - taught our older dog a new trick!

    By on

Our basement flooded and is being remodeled so we decided to put in a pet door. Maggie loves her new door. It took about a day for her to figure out that she can let herself out....and in. Thank you!!

    So far it's great!

    By on

I've had this dog door for a week now. At first, I was concerned because it seemed to scare my dogs but once I followed the training tips, they quickly learned to use it. Now it's awesome to watch them go in and out at their will without worrying that my cat will also get out. If I run into any problems I'll update this review, but so far I think this is such a great purchase!

    Would buy again

Door is good quality and works well. I work 12+ hours and doggie daycare is expensive. So this doggie door was the securest and best option. Keeps random creatures out and my dog got the hang of going in and out super quickly. Installation wasn’t difficult. My only complaints and the reason I didn’t give this a 5/5, is the fact that the door doesn’t come with the battery. You have to buy it separately. And the collar+transmitter is flimsy and cheap looking. I dropped the transmitter from about a ft high and it broke. -nothing a little tape can’t fix. But when you’re shredding out 300 bucks you expect quality. Will be calling customer service and requesting a new one. All in all, until another Door is good quality and works well. Best pet door

    By on

This was easy to install. Hardest part is cutting the hole. A template would have been nice. Pet door works great. Took about 30 min to teach the dogs to use it. I like the battery feature since I did not have an outlet close by.

    3rd Door replaced...

    By on

I have had problems with THREE of these doors since the first year I owned one. They seem to work until about a year, and then the door has issues shutting all the way when it gets hot outside. The company will send you all the parts to replace the internals yourself, but will not send you a whole new door. On my first door, they sent me all the parts one by one, until I had replaced all the parts and basically had a new door (which was Door #2). The problem still did not go away. I tried to find an off brand standard dog door to replace it, but the dimensions are such that no other brand has a door that is as wide as these doors (I have the largest model). Within a year, they same problem happened, I was deployed overseas and couldn't take care of the problem until I got home, so I had to pay approx $150 to have it refurbished. I asked for them to make an exception to the warranty since I was deployed and they didn't even care. Meanwhile, while getting the door refurbished, I had a hole in my wall covered in plastic while I waited a 2-3 weeks for them to refurbish my door. Finally, I got the door back, and last month it went out of warranty, and what do you think happened this month?... The same problem returned. DO NOT GET THIS DOOR. And their wonderful customer service that they brag about is nonsense. Somehow everyone you speak to their is the ONLY manager on duty and there is ABSOLUTELY no way to escalate your issues to anyone else if you do have a problem. … more

    Excellent solution to unwanted guests

    By on

Although I live in a suburban area, I have had unwanted freeloaders such as raccoon and opossum come through my old flapper style door. Not anymore! With he PX-1, if you are not wearing the transmitter, you are not coming in. I call the transmitter the "latch key." I have a very timid Chihuahua who was afraid of the flapper door. This product solved that as well.
