What are the dimensions for the box when it’s delivered? We need to see if it will fit in our car (from a different location)
Answer by PatJun 14, 2023
I contacted the manufacturer and was told that box for the regular height, large size, weighs 46 pounds and is 48" x 21" x 6" in size.

will it allow one pet to go in and out, but keep another in?
Answer by ChewyNov 09, 2021
The door is activated by the collar that the pets wear. Unfortunately, we can not guarantee that the pet you do not want to go out, will not figure out how to tag along quickly behind the other pet with the collar.

How long does the door stay open? Could my cat sneak out behind my dog?
Answer by ChewyNov 04, 2021
This pet door features a sensor that keeps the door panel open as long as it is receiving the signal from your pet's collar. One your pet's collar has moved through the opening, the panel Holds Up for a few seconds longer to allow slow pets to get through the opening. The Hold Up time can be configured for 2 seconds, 4 seconds, or 6 seconds.

If I want to use this only when I'm going to be gone for a day or two and I want to be able to pop it in and out easily, will this work or is it a semi-permanent install. I also have an auto-feeder and a web cam to keep an eye on my pooch.
Answer by ChewySep 04, 2021
The Patio Door insert can be removed whenever needed.

Does not work remotely!

Extremely disappointing! 1st of all it was very expensive, but we thought we would take a chance anyway. We should have read the reviews on the app that connects the door to the mobile phone. The door itself seemed to be decent. Went together well, and seemed sturdy. Then came the problem. We bought the door to allow us to open and close the door while we were on vacation. No matter how we tried the app would connect for a few seconds then drop the connection. The only way to get it to reconnect was to reinstall the app, then it would drop the connection again. We called HiTech customer service and they told us the door was not really designed to operate remotely. It was only designed to use with a dog collar. What? The video information on their web site specifically featured using a cell phone to open and close the door from anywhere. Not so, we couldn't even get it to work from the next room. We are so thankful we bought from Chewy, because they immediately gave us a full refund, because based on other reviews HiTech was not very accommodating with refunds. We had planned a vacation around being able to let our pets in and out while we were on the road. We had to cancel Since our pets were cats, not dogs, putting collars on cats was, a non starter. In summary, it was a great idea, but a total failure. Do not buy this door and expect to operate it remotely.

Wrong door

1. Noticed hardware list was incomplete. 2. Called Hi-Tech. No answer despite being within business hours. (Did receive a call back two days later.) 3. When connecting top and bottom pieces, I noticed that the alignment was off which means the pre-drilled holes did not line up. 4. Finally noticed that while the instructions were for the door I ordered, the door itself was actually an XL door which would not fit. Probably explains the missing hardware. Had to return. I expected more with such a hefty price tag. Might reconsider this product if it becomes microchip compatible.

Great for dogs who go often

My mom stays home to work and this automatic pet door was a time saver. She was constantly taking the me out throughout the day. Now I can go outside at my leisure, and the cats can't get out. Be sure your collar is set up right, sensor at the bottom. Mom says the app is ok. The notifications work 95% of time. Not sure why? I love the freedom of my power pet door!

Works great, could be slightly better overall

The door works wonders. By dog learned immediately to use it and loves coming in and out all day. The construction is solid, though the upper half is slightly wider than than lower so there is no way to get a perfect seal against the slider. As others I had to add a ton of weather stripping but that’s to be expected. All sliding glass doors are different so I don’t mind. The problem I have is with the colar that the transmitter arrested to. Basically an oversized shoelace and I do not trust it. They need to make a transmitter that attaches to your current and future collars.
