Bladder stones are collections of mineral crystals that combine together in the urinary tract. They can cause discomfort and lead to more serious problems that require the care of a veterinarian. Because the food your dog eats plays an important role in his or her overall health and well-being, Hill's nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to help support your dog's bladder health. Dogs need the right balance of minerals to maintain good bladder health. Excess minerals can encourage the formation of crystals in the urine, which can lead to the creation of bladder stones.

Storing leftover canned food in the refrigerator keeps it safe to eat for three to four days.
I have a lab brittney Spanish mix with one large bladder stone. This is the first one she’s had and she is going to be 4 in a few months. She is around 45 pounds. Does she need to be on this diet the rest of her life?
Answer by • Oct 05, 2018
Due to your pet's diagnosed condition, we encourage consulting your Veterinarian to see how long they recommend feeding this diet. Each pet's condition can vary and the vet will be able to monitor them and give the best recommendations according to your pet's tested levels.
Always consult a veterinarian about your pet’s health needs. Customer reviews should not be used as medical advice.

Save Money
My dog was put on a prescription dog food. It was going to be very expensive getting it from her vet. I asked around and everyone said check out Chewey. After shopping around locally the price of the dog food did not get cheaper. I told my neighbor about the prices she said she had a $20 off coupon for Chewey so I took the plunge and ordered it online, which is something I do not care to do. Even though the food was only a few bucks cheaper but with the coupon it was a deal. It showed up when it said it would but the only thing I didn't like was that I asked for it to be put in my carport out of sight and it was left on my front porch. This food is too expensive to be left out front with all the thieves out now days. I will use Chewey again in hopes of a correct spot of delivery. I can't afford to replace it if it is stolen. That adds up quickly. Over all I'm pretty pleased with Chewey and the first order.

Perfect companion for c/d dry dog food
Our baby was used to a topper on her kibble. We thought those days were over when she had to go on c/d food. But this makes the perfect topper for the dry kibble...and adds exta liquid, which she needs. She and our other dog love it! (Of course what one has, the other has to have, too. ;-)

Food for Mossy
I am very upset with this food. My dog is on this food for bladder stones, probably for the rest of her life. The first case we received was thick like stew, she loved it!! The second case we received was like chicken water. I already have to add a cup of water to each serving for her, and she has to only have canned food. She isn’t eating it. Also the can tab breaks off each can. I have a screwdriver and pliers on hand. I was really impressed with the ingredients although water was the first in the list.

Must taste great
Riley is a picky eater, but he eats every bit of this. We tried a different urinary care food before and he did not eat it so well. It has been over a month and he still eats it right up

Prescription diet for my dog.
My dog took to this prescription diet much better than I expected. I'm glad there is a stew and not just pate. My dog and my cats seem to not like pate as much.

Pet Loves the Stew
My pet loves the stew more than the chicken flavor. Wish it wasnt so expensive. Rarely can you get coupons. It should be easier to own a senior dog.

Dog Approved
My dog likes this Hill's canned food better than some other brands which are bland and contain more grains. Hill's also has a canned food specifically for kidney care but I prefer the ingredients in the urinary care diet. However, the amount of protein, fat, etc. differ between the two Hill's formulas which may make a difference in which formula one should choose.
