I have been so happy with this food. My bulldog is double HUU positive, meaning he cannot process animal proteins. He also has allergies like most bulldogs. After a very expensive stone removal surgery and analysis, this food was on the recommended list for low purines. We have been thrilled. He has been on it for 2 years and we have had no stone issues, his coat looks fabulous and we have not had any allergy issues.
This is working very well for my allergy prone ShitZu. He’s not having red licked paws or red belly for first time in 2 years. I went to a new vet and they advised prescription diet, my old vet just gave him a prednisone and apequel pills that didn’t work as he was miserable with red allergic skin and wouldn’t stop licking. With this new dog food, he’s much better and I have seen a great improvement
My dog's dermatologist prescribed this for my dogs skin issues and within a few weeks he howled in pain shortly after a meal. I took him to the emergency vet and he had a gallbladder mucocele. I stopped feeding food immediately and swith to freeze dried air dried and homemade. No more pain. His mucocele has dissolved and his skin is better.
food is ok, my dog eats it when she's starving. Nothing to brag about. Still itchy, still has skin issues. She's been on this food for 2.5yrs now, it's just ok not a miracle food for my itchy dog. She is bathed weekly with prescription allergy skin shampoo, gets monthly allergy shots and eats only this food with occasional organic fruit and veggies (apples, blueberries, string beans, etc..).
My dog didn't adapt to this pure food, we had to mix it with the old one. Which is why we have temporarily suspended auto shipping. As soon as stock drops, we'll be back with it. No problem with product quality. We still use food from the sane brand.
my baby has skin allergies and is allergic to poultry white rice, white potatoes, and a ton of other things. She's been eating this and her itching has calmed down a little. The use of this food with itching shampoo and allergy shots monthly, shes doing better, not great but better.
My older small dog was always licking her paws and sometime scratching herself--possibly an allergy. My vet recommended switching from my OTC kibble to this one. Licking and scratching has been reduced by 90%.
Chewy service is incredible. We were prescribed this food by our Vet because our dog was scratching and had small sores on her stomach. It has stopped the scratching and sores but she hasn’t lost an ounce. We have decreased her intake and hope she starts loosing some weight soon.
Chewy is an amazing company, they got my dog's prescription food for all her allergies approved/shipped/received in under a week. Her eyes are beginning to dry up....(super runny before). I'm seeing results already.
This has helped our dogs skin, stomach, and firm poop. It is costly so I wish Chewy would let prescription dog food have the promotions like spend 100.00 get 30.00 gift card.
