  • It was an okay product

The dog treats are okay but there so hard and big. I have a shitzu-Terrior and she weighs about 15-20lbs who has bladder stone problems and I had to break the treats really small or she wouldn't eat them. I'd give her the treat and she'd tried to eat them but then spit it out because it was to hard to chew. For me to break them it was so hard it hurt my hands. I rather something smaller and soft. She is an older dog so hard treats like this are not good for her. Don't buy this unless you have a bigger dog who can actually enjoy these hard big treats.

  • One dog loves, one doesn't.

I have one fat Chihuahua and one thin one. The fat one LOVES these but I'm not sure if its because she's on a diet and starving or if its because they taste good. I also have used the same brand treats only Metabolic and both dogs love those. I left one of these in a small bowl of water in my sink by accident and it inflated to almost double the size, so it must keep their little bellies full.

  • Healthy Benefit, Lacks in Flavor

    By on

My yellow Lab was put on a low sodium diet due to some kidney issues. My vet recommended these treats to pair along with his Hill's KD dog food. My lab hated them. He would pick it up, and literally spit it right out and walk away. Needless to say we plan to donate them to my local SPCA. If your dog is a picky eater don't waste your money. My lab will eat almost anything, and hated these treats.

  • Unbelievably Hard

    By on

I bought these along with the mobility treats (which are great) - I'm shocked at how hard these treats are. Maybe a young and/or large dog can break them down but certainly not my senior pug. Even after I soaked them in water, she wouldn't eat them (and true to a pug's nature-she's food obsessed). Even I couldn't break even the smallest piece off (yes-I did try).

My big boy had to have stones removed and is now on a C/D diet (mixed with other dry food for taste) He and his sister like these treats every morning. The only crazy thing is he will only eat them if I take them out of the bag. I put them in a treat jar and he didn't want them.

  • Yay we get treats again!!

    By on

My dog used to get a treat every time she went potty outside. However since she developed her urinary problem that ended due to her getting infections if she ate anything other than her prescription food. I found these when I was ordering her CD food on Chewy.com and she does like them. It's nice to be able to give her a treat every now and then.

  • Dog doesn't love them

    By on

These are crunchy and a nice size, but even though my dog (on the hills k/d) still has an excellent appetite, he has passed on these a couple of times. Since there aren't a lot of rx treat options, I'll still buy them again, and would recommend them.

  • Dog Loves Them

Although they are a bit large for a small dog, our dog (about 12 lbs.) TJay, really likes them. I break them apart (have to use a pair of pliers to do so as they are very hard) to make them smaller for her small mouth.
