My dog has heart disease and was prescribed this food. She loves it!!! I am very happy with this food and I would recommend it .
Hills dog food
My dog is 14 and has some aging problems. Her appetite is not the best so I was excited to see that she seems eager to eat and is finishing her portion since I switched to the g/d bag. I’m very pleased with this product.
Easy To Chew Dog Food for My Aging Dog
Vet prescribed this food for my Shih Tzu due to her age (12/12 birthday - 15 years) So far, she likes it because it is easier to chew. Food is a small circular thin flat disc. We are gradually implementing it into her diet and since we started, I noticed she is eating more food which is good since she is underweight now. Love having it shipped right to our front door too.
Special Dog Food
This dog food was recommended by a specialist veterinarian. It has been a healthy choice for my dog with a heart murmur.
Really thick product
We found that due to it's solid consistency it was better to add a little hot water. That way it becomes a thick soupy food, and although it makes a mess on the dogs face, it is easier for her to eat. No other way to soften this up, but we are open to ideas. This was a prescription food that the vet required.
G/D small kibbles dog likes
Dog gobbles this up but it remains to be seen if he refrains from diarrhea. Hopefully the small kibble will be what the next bag is also because the first bag was large bites and was not liked so much.
When I opened the bag I noticed that the kibble is much bigger and harder than previous times. It was small and flat before, now it is very large and a circle. The Chewy website and Hills website show the original small kibble. I noticed other people complain too. My chihuahua cannot eat it, even if I crush it. Don't know what happened?
Hills g/d dog food
Good food however a larger size bag should be sold by Hills other than 8.5lbs. My dog is 50lbs so the bag is not going to last long at all
My dog really likes it
My dog has been on this prescription food for a while and is doing very well on it. He has never refused to eat it.
Eventually gets eaten
My vet warned me this isn’t the most appetizing for our dogs and she was right. But I can get my boy to eat it, although usually I have to mix it with something which rather decrease the effectiveness and purpose of the food.
