My 2 year old rescue had been having bouts of vomiting and diarrhea for the last 6 months. We added a probiotic and at first it seemed to work but then it came back with a vengeance. After a scary day at the vet due to vomiting blood and bloody diarrhea, it was recommended my pup go on a prescription diet. He had been on Hills products since we adopted him so we decided to try this prescription diet. He’s been on it almost a month and so far it’s working! His bad breath is also gone and his coat is so much softer. Be aware that the kibble is much bigger than the small bites hills food I was using before and there is only one kibble size available. My dog is only 14 pounds but he is able to break down the food and it’s actually making him eat slower, which is good. May have to switch to wet food or moisten the dry food as he ages but I would 100% recommend it! … more

I am so dissapointed! My dogs have been eating the i/d LOW-FAT chicken for years. I thought they might enjoy the full flavor better, and got a new prescription from my vet. They didn't necessarily need low fat for any weight issues. I was so upset when I got this and discovered the kibble is at least I am so dissapointed! It is worth the price!
By Christy on Jan 13, 2021
Like others here, my rescue had severe diarrhea- even when on chicken and rice- on and off for over a month. Vet recommended this food for him along with probiotic- and he has normal bowel movements now and looks healthier and seems much happier! Dog is happy and momma is happy!

Protein deficiency
By Pidgey on Jan 10, 2021
My cavalier King Charles spaniel was diagnosed with PLE (protein losing enteropathy). It was touch and go for awhile, but with prescription medication and draining of her abdominal fluid she has made a miraculous recovery. The vet prescribed I/d high protein food by science diet which she needs to be on indefinitely. This food is pricey but she eats it very well and is maintaining her weight and well being. I highly recommend science diet dog food.

So thankful!
By GretlThePuppy on Jan 6, 2021
Our puppy has been sick since the day we got her. We've been struggling with non-stop stomach issues day and night for over six weeks. Chewy has been amazing at getting us the prescription food we need quickly and easily. This particular food has been helpful.

Finally found a solution!
By Linda on Jan 5, 2021
I recently adopted a 2 year old dog - history unknown - and he would have bouts of diarrhea and vomiting every other week or so. I tried home made food, different recommended kibble, various add ons - and while they worked for a bit, he was still suffering regularly. My vet recommended that we try this prescription food before potentially having to see an internist for potentially bigger problems. To my amazed and happy relief, Barkley has now been diarrhea free and no vomiting for over a month - and it changed his digestion immediately. Highly recommend this as a first stop for any dogs suffering similar symptoms. Well worth the money.

Riley loves this, but the headline is that his stomach has settled, and the tail end is functioning properly!

Great food for a dog with digestive problems. Kinda on the pricey side.

Good eating.
By Gerrie on Dec 29, 2020
Compared to the bags I was buying from the vet, your bag of food seemed fresher. The color is lighter. My dog used to take until noon to eat the vet's food but now he gobbles up the food as soon as I put it out.

Great for our new puppy!

Our new Dalmatian puppy was having digestive problems. Within a day of switching his diet to the Hills Digestive Care, his problems cleared up. We are very pleased.
