  • Seems really dry

    By on

I didn't realize this was a pate and totally different from the beef stew I ordered last time. It also lacks the pull tab top which means I have to crank a can opener once a day. It comes out of the can like a dry tube of refried beans, there's no liquid whatsoever in there. It just seems really dry. My dog ate it but he wasn't as thrilled with it as the stew that's really moist and chunky. My misstake I guess.

  • Great Product

    By on

Our female beagle, who is 15 yrs old has the beginning of kidney problems. We have tried several different foods and the Hills Diet Kidney Care with Chicken is the best one so far. She actually wants to eat. The beef and chicken kidney care stew is ok just not her favorite. I've also found that putting a 1/2 tsp of Salmon oil on her food make her want to eat even more.

  • Pickey Eater

    By on

I don't know what to do, my guy is such a pickey eater, I have the stew, the pate, and also Royal Canine SO formula. With the pate I cut thin slices and bake them for 10 min on each side, and make crunchy treats. He eats those, but the other food he will take a few bites the walk away. He will eat after about 2 days.

  • Get creative!

    By on

It is so easy to order my fur baby's prescription food online and have it delivered to her at home. She loves receiving mail/packages and I use the canned food cut into small pieces and frozen as a treat since she is now limited to what treats she can have.

  • Dexter will eat it.

    By on

My big boy Dexter will eat this. He really wants my other dogs food that isn't the renal diet but will eat this if he has to. Our Yorkie that doesn't need a renal diet prefers this food over his normal food and try to sneak some.

  • K/D Food is just ok

    By on

Our vet prescribed the K/D chicken food for our dog when he unexpectedly & suddenly was diagnosed with Acute Kidney Disease. He was given this food while he stayed at the Vet Clinic. They said he ate it well. (He hadn't eaten in 3 days when we took him to the vet to be checked.) When we brought him home we offered the same food to him. He did not like it. I had to put it in his mouth and force him to taste it before he would eat. He would only eat it when he was extremely hungry. It smelled terrible!!!! When I had to order more, I discovered the chicken stew flavor. I thought that it would have more of a normal consistency than the original chicken flavor. It would make managing their illness so much easier. … more

  • What's the main ingredient?

    By on

My dog loves the canned food. I was disappointed to see that the main protein source was pork liver as I expected it to be a chicken based food. I prefer not to feed my pets pork, beef or lamb. I try to stick with fish and fowl. I think the labeling of it as Chicken Canned Dog Food is misleading.

  • Science Diet is the Best

    By on

My dog was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and was put on Science Diet K/D food. Fortunately, she just loves it and reminds me to the minute when it is time to eat. Chewy certainly delivers the goods promptly and with no problems.

  • Picky puppy doesn't like it

    By on

Rocky, my oldest Pic-a-Tzu doesn't care for this food as it is "canned" dog food meaning no "fresh" looking/tasting meat but a "gel" like dog food. my other Shih Tzu's are ok with it. this dog food requires a can opener to open the can.
