The Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care with Ocean Fish Dry Cat Food is clinically proven nutrition that can help transform your pet’s life. As pets age, damage to the kidney tissues may occur, which affects the kidney’s role to function properly and filter toxins and waste from the blood. It is irreversible, and will lead to further loss of kidney function. This may also decrease their appetite, which could eventually result in the loss of muscle mass. And so the Hill’s nutritionists and veterinarians created this special diet, which supports your cat’s kidney function and helps to sustain muscle mass—in fact, the nutrition of k/d is clinically tested to improve and lengthen the quality of life.
Key Benefits- Protects vital kidney and heart function and supports the natural ability to build lean muscle daily.
- Enhanced Appetite Trigger (E.A.T.) technology helps stimulate the appetite and increase caloric intake.
- Made with controlled phosphorus and low sodium, plus therapeutic levels of l-carnitine and omega-3 fatty acids.
- Also includes high levels of essential amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein.
- Made in USA and clinically tested to improve and lengthen the quality of life.

I have 3 finicky kitties, however, only one has kidney disease and they all eat the same food. My vet only had the chicken version of this kibble. I ordered the fish version from Chewy and they loved it! I so appreciate not having to leave work early to pick up this Rx food within the working hours of my vet. Ordering through Chewy, who contacted my vet for the Rx could not have been easier or more convenient!

Ssd to say, our old boy with kidney disease does not like any of the dry k/d food flavors. He always loved the crunch and the games we played with dry food before we learned of his kidney disease, so he misses that part of his old diet, unfortunately. Keep working at an improved version of the seafood flavor, please...he doesn’t like poultry flavors.

It's hard to get prescription pet food from any place other than a vet's office. It's no problem with Chewy. Our cat loves this food and, hopefully, it will keep him alive longer.

My cat Dexter was diagnosed with kidney disease and with a broken heart I immediately starting doing research on what I could do. I found my way to Hill's food and hundreds of positive reviews so I ordered some chicken and veggie stew wet food - Dexter seemed to like the first few cans and then was apparently done with it. I think he knew I was giving him meds... he's a smart cat! I went the dry kibble route and got his favorite flavor (or so I thought) Chicken! He had a bowl and ate it all! Great! Again, ate a few bowls and then turned his nose up. Finally I got this Ocean Fish - he ate and is still eating this food! I give him his suggested serving and he still makes visits back to My cat Dexter was diagnosed with kidney disease and with a broken heart I immediately starting doing research on what I could do. Thank you for the super fast shipping to keep my little buddy's belly full! Lots of reviews saying their kitty puts on weight and gets some vitality back. He's definitely got a little more pep in his step, but he's still lost a little weight. … more

They must make this stuff really tasty because my cat really likes it. I have 3 cats that I free feed and its hard to keep this away from them. The other 2 cats really like it too and keep stealing it. I can't afford to feed all 3 of them this food though because its expensive, even though this site sells it cheaper than other places. Next time I'm going to buy the canned stuff because it will be much easier to feed just to the one cat that needs it.

My cat has been on the k/d diet for several years now. He has been eating the chicken dry food but I decided to try the ocean fish to give him a variety. He loves it! The bowl was practically empty (he normally leaves a few bites at the bottom). He is doing very well on the k/d formula for his kidney disease. He is 16 1/2 years old now and while he is not that active anymore the vet is very pleased with his labs and says he is aging gracefully.

My very particular 17 year old Siamese has been ill the past month with renal problems. She is particular with what she eats and after many tries with food from the vet and you we finally found one she would eat - the fish based wet food KD. She now seems on the road to recovery and hopefully this will do the trick with her kidney problems. Thanks

My 16yr. Old cat likes this food. Fish is her favorite flavor so glad the prescription food accommodates her.
