Questions & Answers

Our pup was actually prescribed KD+ Mobility then, once the pandemic hit, had to change to KD. Are there plans to resume manufacturing and distribution of KD+ Mobility canned dog food?

Can you mix this with other dry
Answer by ChewyJun 26, 2018
This food can be mixed with dry food.

I see the feeding for my 10lb dog is 1 can a day but the Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care Beef & Vegetable Stew Canned Dog Food for 10lb is 2 1/3 per day. Is that correct?
Answer by ChewyMar 21, 2018
The size of the can will determine how many cans you'll feed per day. A 10 pound dog will have one 12 ounce can. If feeding a 5.5 ounce can, a 10 pound dog will have 2 1/3 cans.

How long does a can of the k/d chicken stew wet food last in the refrigerator ?
Answer by ChewyFeb 27, 2018
Opened cans should be stored in the fridge, at temperatures between 40 to 45°F, for a maximum of 5 to 7 days. Any food remaining after that time should be thrown out.

Item and customer service satisfaction

I ordered the chicken and vegetable stew diet food. The customer service and process was great and very easy. I also like the supervisor calls to make sure everything was ok and asked for my feedback on their customer service job. I have not had these kind of professional manner and customer caring manner with any Company I had dealt with before. Chewy goes extra mile to help customer by providing excellent service and professional staff. Thank to all of them. Mostly the caring supervisor who was making sure everything was great such as price , delivery and customer service interact by calling several times.

Finicky Favorite

My 4lb Maltese is extremely finicky and it’s been a struggle her whole life to find a good she will eat. She’s actually been labeled “anorexic” by her vet. As a senior, she’s lost nearly all of her teeth and can only manage with soft foods. So when her blood work indicated stage 1 kidney disease I was really worried about finding something she could and WOULD eat. This kidney care chicken & vegetable stew from Hill’s has been fabulous. She licks her plate clean and actually wants to eat twice a day! I don’t worry that it’s harmful to her kidneys AND she’s actually eating every day. I’m very happy.

He likes it

Our dog had to switch to this food for medical reasons. He wouldn't eat just the dry of same type, but if you mix in some of this, he seems to like it. Been a few weeks now

Kidney prescription diet

My dog was diagnosed with kidney problems. She refused to eat the original prescription food the vet gave her. I searched Chewy and asked the vet to order a few cans of a food that I found on Chewy. Chewy had multiple flavors of Hill prescription kidney food. Gabby (My dog) liked it. My vet is great but when they order food you never know when it will be delivered. I asked the vet to write a prescription so I could order from Chewy. She did - but forgot to specify the brand. Chewy customer service was very helpful. I had my vet write correct prescriptions. I ordered a case from Chewy and it was delivered in one day! I like the fact that there are other flavor options as well as a mobility option. My dog is 13 years old. Chewy has always been great.

Hills K/d. Sorry I didn’t read the entire label and try first.

I thought I was ordering a food that I had used before but it’s a stew of some sort. Very wet. My pooch isn’t fussy at all and is very food oriented but she refused to eat this, no matter what I tried to camouflage it with. I’m stuck with it so I’ll donate it to a nearby shelter.

Worked to get my dog eating again

Our dog started to decline quicky and was diagnosed with kidney disease. She refused to eat and started shaking. We tried several food options, including the various Hills flavors. I literally had to spoon feed this to her, a few spoonfuls at a time, but it was the one thing she'd actually eat. After a few days she was just about back to normal and immediately devours this food and now she'll eat the dry food as well. It took a lot of effort, but this food seemed to bring our dog back to life and we'll be continuing with Hills K/D food.

Dog wont touch the stuff

Its hard enough to watch a small dog with kidney issues waste away. Then your vet tells ya to tri this expensive stuff and the dog wont touch it. Don't but very much wet or dry until you try it first.

Paw lickin good!

My dog Kadie really should be writing this, of course, but lacking good communication skills, I will tell you she loves this flavor. Her human (me) is grateful that Chewy has good prices because this is an expensive food!

Speciality Food

Just found out our baby has developed kidney problems. Vet suggested a special diet. This is a very stew like dog food which our picky eater is actually eating. Of course, you just can’t beat Chewy’s service. It was received quickly after ordering.
