  • K/D Food is just ok

    By on

Our vet prescribed the K/D chicken food for our dog when he unexpectedly & suddenly was diagnosed with Acute Kidney Disease. He was given this food while he stayed at the Vet Clinic. They said he ate it well. (He hadn't eaten in 3 days when we took him to the vet to be checked.) When we brought him home we offered the same food to him. He did not like it. I had to put it in his mouth and force him to taste it before he would eat. He would only eat it when he was extremely hungry. It smelled terrible!!!! When I had to order more, I discovered the chicken stew flavor. I thought that it would have more of a normal consistency than the original chicken flavor. It has chunks of chicken Our vet prescribed the K/D chicken food for our dog when he unexpectedly & suddenly was diagnosed with Acute Kidney Disease. I thought that it would have more of a normal consistency than the original chicken flavor. It has chunks of chicken, carrot & pea pieces in a gravy. At first he couldn't wait for me to put it in his bowl. After a while, he would sniff it and walk away. Now he's not eating it at all. I wish there was a decent flavor that the dogs liked. It would make managing their illness so much easier. … more

  • Get creative!

    By on

It is so easy to order my fur baby's prescription food online and have it delivered to her at home. She loves receiving mail/packages and I use the canned food cut into small pieces and frozen as a treat since she is now limited to what treats she can have.

  • Dexter will eat it.

    By on

My big boy Dexter will eat this. He really wants my other dogs food that isn't the renal diet but will eat this if he has to. Our Yorkie that doesn't need a renal diet prefers this food over his normal food and try to sneak some.

  • New formula is awful

    By on

With the old formula my dog got so excited to eat in the morning she couldn’t contain her excitement. Then she would eat it all and lick the bowl clean. Then they changed the formula to “new and improved.” Yeah, right! Now my dog won’t eat it! When she’s starving she’ll eat a little, leaving a mess of it on the floor, but then walks away. She isn’t eating the “new and improved “ hard food either!! I got online and read review after review of people whose dogs won’t eat the new formula. What are we supposed to feed our dogs?!? The dogs know it’s NOT improved. Should have left a good thing alone!!

  • Science Diet is the Best

    By on

My dog was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and was put on Science Diet K/D food. Fortunately, she just loves it and reminds me to the minute when it is time to eat. Chewy certainly delivers the goods promptly and with no problems.

  • My dog hates the "new formula"

    By on

This formal is NOT the same as the original formula!!!! My dog would only eat the original flavor and he with not touch this "new improved formula". Telling us this is the same formula is a lie. Very annoying because we've tried so many dog foods and he only liked the "old" original formula. We have no idea what to do for our dog. He cries all the time now because he hates his food and he's hungry.

  • "New and Improved" My dog hates it!

    By on

My dog is very picky, so when the formula was changed on the Liver flavor we went to the original which took some time for him to adjust. He did eat some with mostly treats on it in order to start the feeding process. Now even if we put treats on it he won't touch it, and it's been like this for a week. He's eating rice, potatoes, and chicken. Very unhappy with the changes to the formula! Had to give it one star in order to rate, but I wouldn't have other wise given it any stars.

  • She likes it!

    By on

When I first opened the can, I thought my 10 year old Wheaton Terrier would reject it. I didn’t realize her vet had us try the chicken stew version which is more appealing to look at from a human point of view. However, my girl loves it!
