Is this a pate type or a stew type wet food?
Answer by ChewyDec 16, 2020
This formula has a pate consistency.

What's the shelf life on canned dog food
Answer by ChewyOct 14, 2022
Hill's canned products are guaranteed fresh until the best before date on the bottom of the can. Hill's canned products are guaranteed fresh for 24 months from the date of manufacture, provided they have been handled and stored properly. The product should be stored between 50- and 100-degrees F. Ideally, products should be kept at room temperature. Storage at temperatures below 50 degrees F for more than four days may change the texture, but does not alter the nutritional value of the food.

How long can an open can of the pate last in the fridge? I have a small dog and the big can is way to much and I'm afraid it will spoil.
Answer by ChewyNov 09, 2020
Opened cans should be stored in the fridge, at temperatures between 40-45°F, for a maximum of 5-7 days. Any cat or dog food remaining after that time should be thrown out.

what is the sodium and phosphorus #?
Answer by ChewyAug 31, 2022
This variety contains approximately 0.2% Sodium and 0.25% Phosphorus content on a dry matter basis.

Good taste

My dog had been in kidney failure for many months, and then having trouble eating. This chicken wet dog food was a way to get Bella eating again. I mixed the chicken (solid) along with the stew variety.

Good Product but dented

Delivery was on time and this product is prescribed for my dog and he seems happy to eat it. I bought a case and about 5-6 cans were dented enough so it was difficult to open even with a manual can-opener.

On and off

Sometimes my dog wolfs this down but other times she will not touch it! I have to switch it up but when she likes it, it seems to keep her levels stable. Be wary of the fat content though if your buddy has pancreatitis.

K/d wet food

I know this is what my little dog needed but she hated it. It was so hard to get her to eat it. It would be wonderful if the company could make it more appealing to the dogs.

Pass the Pate Please

Our 15 year old Bichon has kidney disease and we have tried various dry and wet foods. She really dislikes the kibble and she barely eats the chicken stew. She has lost a lot of weight and we have tried tempting her with various toppings. But this pate must taste totally different because she licks the bowl clean. Thank goodness!

Our Dog Loves it

We recently had to switch our dog to this food because she unfortunately is in kidney failure. Prior to switching she wasn't eating hardly at all. Since introducing Hill's Prescription Diet - Kidney Care she is eating much better. She can't wait for me to fill her bowl before she starts to eat. Glad to see this!

Prescription food

My elderly yorkie is in kidney failure. Vet recommended this particular food. He eats it well and has actually gained some weight and his levels are holding.

Good stuff!

Bella just loves her new wet food diet! I don't think she knows it's good for her, too! Happy, healthy little girl, for sure!

Sub for out of stock medical diet

Good balance on nutrition, but not my dog's preference. This is an equivalent substitution for what we normally use and we're unable to acquire. Medical/ Veterinary diets are critical to the dog's health and must be maintained.

I won't eat this!

Hi, I'm a 14 year old mixed-breed named Bonnie. I've never been picky. In fact, I eat almost anything. They tell me I have kidney issues, but I'd rather starve than eat this stuff. Even my healthy brothers won't touch it!
