Questions & Answers

Will this be made available in the smaller cans? My cat is very picky and only likes food right after it’s opened and portions are too large. I’d need the pate, not the smaller canned food in gravy.
Answer by ChewyAug 30, 2019
At this time, the manufacturer only makes this food in the 5.5 ounce can.

Does the Hills Diabetes canned cat food contain carrageenan
Answer by ChewyApr 12, 2022
This recipe contains Carrageenan.

Would like to be 100% positive. My cat was diagnosed as diabetic this week. My understanding is he should not have potato's or corn starch, this foods new formula has both. (No potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn starches or peas.)
Answer by ChewyAug 25, 2019
Due to your pet's diagnosed condition, we recommend consulting your Veterinarian to see what would be a good fit for your pet's current treatment plan.

GlucoSupport m/d

At first my cat didn't like this food, but when I mix/mash it with warm water into a broth, she laps it right up. She is diabetic, on insulin injections 2x/day and the doctor wants her on this food. She is overweight, which is evidently a bad thing for a diabetic cat, so we are grateful she will eat this food. So far, no weight loss though. It's been about 2 months.

Cat approved

My cat 14 years old likes the wet food. She is off insulin and this prescription food maintains her health and prevents her from going back on insulin. Proper hydration and diet.

Unpalatable

My cats refuse to eat this expensive food. Bought it for my diabetic cat.

My cat likes it.

My cat has a weight problem. Prior to m/d she was eating w/d, which has unfortunately been discontinued, so my vet recommended this item. I feed her measured portions several times a day. My problem with m/d is that it is difficult to divide it into portions because it is mushy and runny, which also gives it a rather unpleasing appearance. It is for that reason alone that I wouldn't recommend or not recommend this product. My cat seems to have no objection to it and readily eats it when I serve it to her.

My cat loves it

One of my cats was diagnosed with Mega-Colon, a major digestive problem controlled by medication and diet. He loves this food and eats all at each feeding. Even my other cat tries to steal some. I'm not thrilled with the smell, smells bad going in, worse coming out, but as long as it keeps my sweet guy healthy, I can deal with it. At least I know who did what in the litter pans. I would recommend this food for any cat with a digestive health issue. I know it's saving mine from a major surgery.

Expensive Rx Food

After purchasing this expensive Rx cat food, I was holding my breath when I fed it to my diabetic cat, Davey. At first he loved it and I was relieved but with half of the case left he doesn’t like it very much. He’s always leaving a lot left to dry out and I scoop it into the garbage. I think he likes a variety and not the same thing every day all day. I don’t know what else he can eat.

Works well for diabetic cat

This food is great, my cat loves it. It’s effectively helped her lose weight as well as keep her blood sugar within range. This food also put her in diabetic remission, which was fantastic. The only suggestion I would say is to make smaller portions.
