Help your canine companion restore and maintain normal bladder health with Hill's Prescription Diet s/d Urinary Care Original Canned Dog Food. Bladder stones are collections of mineral crystals that combine together in the urinary tract and create discomfort that can lead to more serious problems requiring the care of a veterinarian. Because the food your dog eats plays an important role in his overall health and well-being, Hill's nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to help dissolve struvite stones in as little as one to two weeks. It’s formulated with a precisely targeted urinary pH level that increases the solubility of crystals as well as balanced protein and mineral levels to deliver the essential nutrition she needs to promote crystal dissolution and increased urinary function.
Key Benefits- Developed by nutritionists and veterinarians to help dissolve struvite stones in as little as one to two weeks.

Why should I buy veterinary diets from Chewy?
We offer competitive prices and free shipping on orders over $49. Plus, you'll save more if you sign up for automatic refills with Autoship at Checkout. Chewy experts are available 24/7 to answer any questions you have.
How do I order veterinary diets?
- Search for the diet your veterinarian recommends and add it to your cart. You can purchase your veterinary diets along with any other items you need.
- At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.
What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?
Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

SD Solved a big problem
By Dusty on Nov 4, 2020
My dog has had surgery for bladder stones 3 times and is a picky eater. To our great relief she loves this food. Our vet said this was the food that she had to eat in order to fight the stones. We haven't used it long enough to see if it will stop the stones but at least she will eat it. She does love her treats and the vet said no treats but I read here in another review to freeze the SD in treat size and use it for treats. It worked she thinks frozen treats out of the freezer are great.

Removed 7 bladder stones
By JenD on Sep 26, 2020
I can not recommend this food enough. My 11-year old female Sheltie was diagnosed with 7 bladder stones. In an attempt to avoid surgery, our vet recommended trying this food exclusively for about a month. My dog had follow-up Xrays yesterday and NO MORE STONES!!! And no surgery needed. :) The food looks disgusting (like brown cranberry sauce), but my dog loves it - she cries when I’m running the can opener. I recommend slicing it on a cutting board and serving it in chunks so it’s easier for them to chew.

Male dog with bladder stones
By Yupp on Oct 25, 2020
He loved this food! He is a picky eater so I was glad when he would eat it since it was the medicine for the bladder stones. Although we haven't retested him for the stones, he has perked up and been more playful lately.

No Surgery!!!!
By SDavy on Aug 8, 2020
My poor Frenchie was having constant UTIs us and the vet thought. We had her x-rayed and found out she had bladder stones and was full of them. The vet said let us try using food first and then if that does not work we will do a surgery. Well after 2 weeks of only this food her stones have disappeared by 33%. We are so very happy that it looks like she will not be needing a surgery. Also we received our food once ordered with about 2 days. So we were able to quickly get her started on her new diet.

The food is fine , the service and shipping not so much
By Sharon on Jul 11, 2020
I love Chewy and for the most part haven’t had trouble , but this time was a disaster. Ordered food that needed authorization. Uploaded on 7/1 and proceeded to receive emails until 7/7 saying they didn’t receive the authorization even though it said on the order they did. Had to call 3 times to straighten out and third time was told to send it to another email and I did only to get a reply that they didn’t receive it and mind you you could see the attachment . Replied to the person asking why if it’s attached are you telling me you didn’t receive it. Another email apologizing and to send the authorization to another dept which I did just to get another email saying they didn’t receive his authorization I love Chewy and for the most part haven’t had trouble , but this time was a disaster. With following day I received two final emails apologizing for the confusion and soon after a confirmation on shipping. Had it been for treats or food I could have gotten anywhere it would not had mattered. I ordered in advance knowing it’s at least two days shipping. Received it on the day I had 1 can left of food. I had already gone to the vets and purchased all they had. Very disappointed in Chewy this time! … more

I was not pleased with the last shipment I received of this product. The contents was not good. after I opened each can and saved the rest it had water build up in it and it was more of a rubber consistency. My little Pekingese did not like it I had to add substitutes to make her eat it. This makes the second time out of all the times I have ordered that this has happened.
