Our 15 year old cocker/bichon was just recently diagnosed with kidney failure and had his diet changed to a minimum protein diet (he loves meat, so this is a challenge) and has to do an IV injection daily. So glad I found these to be able to give him some sort of treat - he didn't seem to have any complaints Our 15 year old cocker/bichon was just recently diagnosed with kidney failure and had his diet changed to a minimum protein diet (he loves meat, so this is a challenge) and has to do an IV injection daily. So glad I found these to be able to give him some sort of treat - he didn't seem to have any complaints, ate it in less than 2 seconds. I noticed many reviews saying they were hard as a rock - I had no issues breaking these in half. I would say they are just slightly more solid than a chewy chips ahoy cookie. It still bent and allowed me to break and my dog had no problems chewing through it. … more

Our 13 year old pup was recently diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. We have her on the Hill's dry and wet food and she seems to enjoy those relatively well. We wanted to branch out to try treats. She's had several dental procedures, being older, and has missing or very sensitive teeth and gums Our 13 year old pup was recently diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. We have her on the Hill's dry and wet food and she seems to enjoy those relatively well. We wanted to branch out to try treats. She's had several dental procedures, being older, and has missing or very sensitive teeth and gums. So we only give her soft baked treats. Was really excited to see these in her diet plan. VERY disappointed when we received them. In NO way are these soft baked and easy on older teeth and gums. We even tried cutting them into smaller pieces to see if they'd be easier for her to eat and we truly struggles to even cut them in half with a kitchen knife. Needless to say, this will not work at all for our pup. … more

Hills prescription soft baked treats
By Shelbysmom on Feb 25, 2021
Bought these for a 10 lb dog with urinary issues. She loves them. My only negative comment would be that they aren't very soft. It's not a problem for my dog but could be for some. The treats are very dense I cut them into smaller pieces. Will buy them again.

Our 11 year old Yorkie was just diagnosed with early renal failure. She has always been a picky eater, so when we had to restrict her diet, we were so excited that she loved these treats!

Safe Treat

My dog is on the Low Fat I/D Hill's Prescription Diet and I was looking for a treat for her. She does not like hard treats and is very picky!!! I've read reviews that said these were hard. The first one out of the bag was pretty hard but all the rest I could break with my fingers. And....she likes them!!!!

KD dog loves them!!
By KLSM on Feb 21, 2021
My dog diagnosed with kidney disease 2 and 1/2 years ago loves these. She’s only allowed one a day, but for what ever reason will always eat these when she will turn her nose up at a bowl of KD food. Just wish they were softer, as I have to cut them up into small pieces for her.

Not soft at all!

Not soft at all. We can't even cut them with a knife! Why bother calling them soft baked? Very disappointing.

"Soft" treats
By Treats on Feb 14, 2021
Soft in that you can break them but not soft enough for a dog who had lost a few teeth. Still soaking them in warm water works and the pup (14 years old)loves them

Delicious and healthy

Our beloved Princess has been very selective in the treats that she likes. Her vet recommended this one following some digestive issues and they are a roaring success.
