Key Benefits

  • Unique kibble shape and size cleans the tooth surface by scrubbing away laden plaque in the mouth to promote systemic health
  • Special fiber matrix technology is clinically proven to reduce plaque, stain and tartar buildup
  • Fights bacteria-laden plaque, reduces bad breath, and promotes overall health
  • Added antioxidants to control cell oxidation and promote a healthy immune system
  • Awarded the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) Seal of Acceptance for helping reduce both plaque and tartar accumulation

  • Great product

    By on

Product is very good, though bites aren't exactly small for my tiny dog. My dog doesn't care much for these, probably because they are too big for her ultra small mouth. Other dogs have eaten them and enjoyed them. Overall, good product. Arrived much quicker than I anticipated.

  • oops....needed large bites

    By on

My bad....not till this food arrived did I realize this bag was for dogs up to 22 lbs. My Golden is 60 lbs. Previous bag from vet was much larger pieces and it is the size of the pieces, forcing dog to chew (vs. inhale) their food that helps with the dental care.

  • “Small Bites”?

    By on

I recently bought the dental care small bites for my Maltese. These pieces are much too large for my dog to eat. I have to cut them in quarters for my dog to get his mouth around them. This is probably defeating the purpose of the food. Very unhappy.

  • My dogs love them!

    By on

I use the as dog treats or praise when my 3 big rescues deserve them. They love the taste & I know it is good for them. I learned about them because my Vet uses them for all the dogs he treats when they come in to see him.

  • right sized kibble for small dogs.

    By on

my Maltese loves these nuggets we call them. he hides them and brings them out to eat 1 at a time. as the vet dentist says they are large and the it's the scrubbing of the teeth as they bite and crunch it that mechanically cleans their teeth. my dog has lost a lot of teeth even with vet cleanings but he is still able to crush these big balls of food. the vet says his teeth are genetically bad. I had to have all baby teeth pulled. but his teeth are stable right now also using virbac enzymatic chews.

  • chewy dental treats -

    By on

You need a prescription from you vet to buy these. I like them and more important my dogs like them - I just wish they came in a bigger size. The treats are very small - a bigger size would be better for removing tarter from their teeth.

  • Great for little dogs' teeth

    By on

Small, dogs have more problems with their teeth, and these hard chunks do a great job in reducing tartar. We have a rescue Schipperke, puppy mill for 7 years, of course the scum of the earth couldn't take care of her. When we got her the rescue vet stopped counting extractions at 10 (and charged for three, best karma in the world) I think she maybe has 8 teeth left. Nothing these can do for her, but certainly a lesson for our other small dogs. Worth it, they're half their diet now.

  • My Vet's Suggestion

    By on Top 100 Contributor

Not a fan of this type of food, but after an $1000 in dental bills (even though we brush and add dental water) I was feeling a little desperate to try something to keep my dog's teeth healthy. I agree totally: the kibble is HUGE to be called small bites. I placed some in a large baggie and crushed them in half with a small hammer. My dogs can eat it that way, and they both enjoy the flavor. I'd rather have the kibble in half than none at all. I hope to hear some good news in our next dental check up!
