Description

Food sensitivity and intolerance are potentially serious problems that can result in sensitive or irritated skin, coat and ear conditions or even gastrointestinal upset. Cats that have a food sensitivity or intolerance, also called adverse reactions to food, typically experience an abnormal response to the protein in the food. If your cat suffers from adverse reactions to food, it is even more important to feed the right food. At Hill's, nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to help manage your cat's dietary sensitivity and help reduce the possibility of adverse reactions to food.

  • My cat's allergies seem to be treated by this food

    By on

My cat was showing sores above her eyes and around her ears. I put her on a wheat free diet and she improved considerably but then the vet said I should put her on the z/d dry cat food to really address any food issues. She then really became completely clear of the sores. But the wheat free food was mixed in so I thought I could just use the dry food - however, she started throwing up (on the rugs of course). When I read the ingredients on the label, I saw that the z/d food had hydrolyzed protein. Since she has been 100% on that she has been fine - no vomiting no sores. I bought some of the wet cat food but she didn't like it - I have two cats and the other one turned his nose up at it My cat was showing sores above her eyes and around her ears. • Amazing service!

    By on

So glad I found Chewy! Very gracious and helpful customer service, and I couldn't believe how quickly my order arrived. My kitty has IBD and through much trial and error have finally come upon the only food she can keep down. It is much less pricy ordering through Chewy than at the vet's. And this picky eater will gobble it down. I am now a forever customer!

  • hypoallergenic cat food

    By on

Good hypoallergenic cat food. My cat is allergic to everything for now and has IBS and chronic vomiting when on anything else. This is also a good food for seeing which protein sources your cat is allergic to. Must use for at least 6 weeks, then by slowly reintroducing each protein(chicken, fish, etc.) one at a time, you can interpret which one your cat reacts to.

  • So far so good!

    By on

Having a cat called Barney who had lost most of its fur to allergies, I went with the vet's advice to try Z/D Hill's Prescription food. I thought maybe my fussy Barney would not eat the food, but he loves it and so do my other two cats. Barney is also starting to grow his fur back so unless something happen's where he stop's eating the food or start's pulling his fur out again, I will defiantly keep using it.

  • Hills Z/d food sensitivities dry cat food

    By on

This was prescribed by my vet for one of my cats. Now it seems to be liked but I have never smelt anything like I smell now when they poop. It wafes into all rooms of the house. I guess it is cleaning them out. Still, I hope it helps them. I have only had just gotten this and haven't even used it for a month yet so it takes time to see what the affects it will have, besides the smell AFTER eating it. The food itself doesn't smell at all. and it is tiny so my cats like that better.

These food has helped my Shadow with his food allergies. Along with the wet variety, using this product has changed his black coat from a dull and unkempt with dandruff to sleek and beautiful! Its a pleasure to pet him, and he is happier too!

  • Great Service

    By on

Our cat had been sick. We were trying different food to see what worked. Two days after I received a case of wet Royal Canin (which our cat didn't like at all) our vet said we had to switch to Hills Z/D. I just spent $60.00 on that case and called to return it. They credited me and told me to "donate it". So I did. I took it to a local no kill shelter. He loves the new food and so far so good. They have a new friend in me!

My 10 year old ginger tabby cat Fiona Faith has been eating Hills z/d dry cat food for several years now and she's doing great. No more itching, no fur pulling, no scabs; just beautiful fur and a happy kitty. I'm very glad my vet recommended z/d prescription food.
