Food sensitivity and intolerance are potentially serious problems that can result in sensitive or irritated skin, coat and ear conditions or even gastrointestinal upset. Cats that have a food sensitivity or intolerance, also called adverse reactions to food, typically experience an abnormal response to the protein in the food. If your cat suffers from adverse reactions to food, it is even more important to feed the right food. At Hill's, nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to help manage your cat's dietary sensitivity and help reduce the possibility of adverse reactions to food.

Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

My Chewy Order
I gave Chewy 5 stars because of their service.
I recently had to put my kitty down. In her last days she wanted her crunchy
cat food. We ran out and she was beside herself. I hurried and ordered the food & it was there a day later. Silver went to the rainbow bridge a week later.
Thank you Chewy for all her needs.

z/d cat food
This cat food has made all the difference in my 13 year old Shaggy! Her poop has firmed up and she doesn't need her bottom cleaned as often. She is quite stout (try obese) and can't clean herself. Hopefully she is losing some weight too. Only downside is the hefty price, but it's worth it to see her acting so much better!

Awesome solution!
Had 2 of my elderly cats beginning to have issues digesting the dry food they have been on since there were kittens; began throwing up their food for 2 or 3 days, finally took to the vet; did full bloodwork, xrays, etc., everything came out fine; he suspected it was something along the nature of IBS and he recommended this food, instructed me to change them immediately due to the constant vomiting. This is prescription and expensive, but within 3 days, all that was gone! Better than continuing vet bills if I didn't change their food! I couldn't believe it!! Most important is always take your pet to be examined by your vet to eliminate any serious illness.

Did not help my cat
We were prescribed this for my cat's nonstop dirreahea. Although he was eating it, I started seeing blood in his stool so we stopped feeding him the food. 2-stars because he did eat it but did nothing for my cats digestion.

She ate it!
My girl was just diagnosed with an irritated intestine and was recommended to transition to a hydrogelized food...not so easy to find in stock and not necessarily very tasty. After trial an error, this Hill's Science Diet product was not only in stock but a flavor profile that my girl will eat.

not a solution for my cat
I wish they could make it more appealing. I have three cats. One of them has inflammatory bowel disease. She was prescribed this food. I have tried it in both wet and dry. She will not eat it at all. Even the other two cats, who will eat pretty much anything, won’t touch it.

Life saving food
This ZD food saved the life of my cat! Grayson has a condition that keeps him from taking the nutrients from the protein in regular food. When I adopted him, he was a mere 5 lbs. His own body was literally starving itself! Thanks to this ZD food, and the treatment of my vet, he is now a happy, healthy, 11 lb kitty! I recommend Hills ZD food to any pet who needs it!

Doesn't work
No way our cat would eat this. Had a friend who's cat is on Hill's also and she wont' eat it. Not a definite fix for cat sensitivities. Went back to Purina Pro.

Great food for a sensitive stomach
This food has been life changing for my cat that could not stop throwing up almost everyday after she ate. It is more expensive then the other foods we tried but definitely worth it.
