When your dog's stomach isn't happy, nobody is happy. Now you can help reduce stomach upset and support healthier stool with Gastrointestinal Biome Chicken Flavor dog food from Hills' Prescription Diet. This exclusive recipe was formulated by Hill's team of nutritionists and veterinarians using a different approach to digestive care. The kibble works with the bacteria in your dog's stomach to break down his breakfast, dinner and everything in-between. This blend of active fibers helps food move through the body naturally—and regularly—by encouraging the release of postbiotics. With the help of your veterinarian, you can use Hill's Prescription Diet to support your BFF's overall digestive health.

We have a 9 year old beagle. He developed issues when he was just a few months old. We have worked with nutritionists and tried every food under the sun. He can't even eat crunchy food; it destroys his system. We settled on home cooked chicken and rice plus veggies, vitamins, probiotics, apples, and digestive enzymes. That worked relatively well for years. Then a year ago we had to start cutting out foods one by one. He was back to bloody stool and getting up at all hours to go out. He was a mess. We managed on metronidazole but that started to mess with his system too. My vet suggested biome and I was so hesitant because we've tried so many things. We took about 2 1/2 weeks to transition completely but after the first day of just a tablespoon, we saw an improvement. Now he is having normal stool 4 times a day and he absolutely loves this food! Thank you Hills. Yes, expensive but nothing compared to all the vet visits, meds and torture our dog was going through. Please never discontinue this food. Thank you!
My dog Maggie is a Yorkie with the worlds most sensitive stomach. She would constantly be in the emergency vet with bloody stools, green stools, and yes even turquoise stools once! (no vet could explain it). After trying what felt like every food out there and constantly being at the vet and her in pain, this food came on the market. She has had PERFECT stools ever since. Not one trip to the ER. Worth every penny!!! We do the wet and dry formula! She will be on this food for her whole life.
For 3 years Bella (13 yr Beagle girl)has been fighting clostridium and gastric problems. Diarrhea..marshmallow stools..gastritis etc. Round after round of antibiotics..low fat food she didn't like extra fiber and daily probiotics. Changed vets and after one more round of antibiotics and a visit to the emergency vet the day after Christmas my vet suggested a changeover to this food. Had to do a slow changeover to this food but after 24 hrs of only Hills she had her first solid stool in years. She loves this food. I add a little warm water to make a little gravy and feed it to her bit by bit. She is a food gobbler and that's not good for her. She still gets added probiotics as she is on a daily low dose tylosin because of the bacteria issues but we no longer have to add extra fiber to her food which never worked anyway. She is feeling much better. She even wants to play and enjoys her time outside. Vet said it doesn't work for all dogs and dogs with gastric problems often have to try different things to find what works but this has been a real blessing for us. Don't know how long we will be together as we are both elderly but this food gives her a better quality of life.
Hills RX Diet is great - I only wish I fed Biscuit this sooner. Not only has her tummy and GI system improved, but her overall well-being and dog attitude has improved too...which makes for a better life for all. This food is great - good for your dog and better yet, your dog will absolutely love it and eat it with gusto. It has been a lifesaver. Highly recommended and worth the price.
My friend's corgi had problems w/GI issues, including bloody and soft stools, and has been using steroids and metronitazole to control this. Even w/steroids, every time she finished a course of metronitazole, the stool issues would return. She is currently going off steroids, as her liver enzymes increased, and we hope to discontinue metronitazole soon. Even w/metronitazole but w/o this food, her poops were soft, but as soon as we began this food they got firmer and darker (darker means more nutrients were being absorbed by her gut). We are just thrilled. This product is worth every penny.
My precious Skye is my world! I praise God everyday for blessing me with her. Skye was on only Hills science 11+ small bites. As she will turn 15 Feb 6th, she was developing bouts of diarrhea. I started adding the biome to her diet a couple weeks ago. We have not had a loose bowel! I am struggling financially, and I know it is expensive. Please trust me it's worth it , for your loved friend and yourself! Love, Sheri and Skyegirl
My puppy has suffered GI symptoms for months. We did Bloodwork, tried Flagyl treatments multiple times, tried different diets, she even would throw up in the AM sometimes. The vet started her on Prilosec for the AM and then started her on this diet. She swore by it and said within 24 hours the diarrhea would go away. I was a bit skeptical because that seemed a bit extreme but it proved to be true! We have had her on this for a few weeks now and she hasn't had a diarrhea episode since she has been on this! Seriously a lifesaver for our poor GI doggo.
We were struggling with my French bulldogs bowels for her first year of life. After multiple episodes of diarrhea our vet suggested this food. As advertised within 24 hours of a gradual shift, her poops started to form. We’ve had her on this food for 5 months now and we’ve had no bowel issues. Literally changed our lives!
I can’t recommend this food highly enough. As a puppy, my dog seemed to be sensitive to almost everything she ate. She’s been on this food for several months now and is now 1.5 years — not only has it resolved her day-to-day digestive issues, but it’s helped her build a stronger stomach in the long term. Given the nightmares I experienced the first few months I had her, I owe Hill my life. Pricey but worth every penny.
Our pup was rescued and plagued with Giardia and other bacteria During treatment it was suggested by our vet that he may have food sensitivity as well This formula stopped his diarrhea and he loves it Thanks to Chewy for their excellent customer service and prompt shipping We are so thankful
