About Hill's Prescription Diet GI Biome Food for Dogs

Hill’s GI Biome Diet
Hill’s Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome dog food takes a different approach to digestive care. Each formula uses a specific blend of active fibers, known as ActivBiome+, to help your dog’s stomach break down food more efficiently and promote healthier stools and regularity. It also contains Hill’s S+OX Shield ingredients, formulated to promote urinary health.

Healthy Stool in A Jiffy
Hill’s Gastrointestinal Biome promotes stool regularity in as little as 24 hours. Its ActivBiome+ Technology, an exclusive blend of prebiotics, whole grain oats and pumpkin, works with your dog’s unique gut flora to foster balance and better stools.
Activate the Gut Microbiome
When it comes to canine digestive health, the balance between good and bad bacteria is key. Promoting the growth of good bacteria helps keep problematic bacteria in check and supports ongoing digestive well-being.

Know the Signs of Digestive Issues
If you notice vomiting, diarrhea or soft stools, straining, stomach gurgling, flatulence, appetite changes, lethargy or depression in your dog, it may be from digestive trouble. See your vet for more insight and see if changing foods can help.
Risk Factors
Many things can trigger digestive issues in your pup, including food sensitivities, inflammation and bacterial, viral or parasite infections. Your vet can help determine what’s causing the trouble and figure out how diet can play a role.

7 Customer Questions
Do you have any info about the sodium content ? Since our dog has been on this food, she gets up during the night to drink lots of water.
Answer by • Apr 03, 2021
This formula has 0.35% sodium on a Dry Matter basis.
What is the shelf life once opened? Want to use this as a topper on her prescription dry food.
Answer by • Dec 29, 2020
After opening, canned products should be covered and stored in a refrigerator at 40 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. In general, refrigerated canned foods should be used within five to seven days after opening. Canned products with high amounts of rice often have separation of water from the other canned product (free water will be seen at the bottom or around the side of the can) within a few days. This separation of water is called syneresis and does not change the nutritional characteristics of the food, but will affect food texture and possibly palatability. Since freezing dramatically changes the texture of canned products and adversely affects palatability, freezing canned pet food is not recommended either before or after opening.
My dog doesn't always finish a can in one day. How long does this stay fresh covered in the fridge?
Answer by • Aug 16, 2021
Ideally, after opening, any leftovers should be stored in the refrigerator and should be consumed within 3-5 days.
Does it come with small can
Answer by • Apr 04, 2021
At this time, this recipe is only available in the larger, 12.5 ounce cans.
