Why is the recommended feeding amount so much higher than other similarly sized Science Diet canned cat foods?

Didn't work out

I had high expectations for this food since my cats are willing to eat the Hills Sensitive Skin and Stomach dry food. They've had some issues with wet food lately (throwing up), but wouldn't touch the canned Hills Sensitive Stomach. They apparently felt the same about this stuff too...these furry creatures preferred to go hungry than eat this. Back to looking for a healthy, canned food for older cats.

Love Chewy's!

My most finicky cat really liked this. Right after I bought the first case though the product ran out. I was disappointed but ordered another Hill's Science Diet flavor which he liked also so thank goodness! I still want to get more of this if it comes back in stock.

formula changed

the last few batches over the past few months were so watery and my cats were nit eating it as well. Then it was out of stock and hard to get elsewhere. Now it's back in stock and I will try another case. I'm hoping they went back to the old formula otherwise I may look for something different

Way more liquid than 1-6

We usually get this Hills seared tuna & carrot medley in the version for adult cats ages 1 - 6, but Chewy was out of it and we needed this flavor no matter what the calorie for our finicky eaters. However, the 11 + (age) version has a way more liquid in it, kinda watery with chunks, and they would not touch it. Having two finicky eaters that need to keep weight on is a struggle. They will gobble a food right up one day and not touch it the next. Finally one would eat it but I won't order this version again. No reflection on Chewy. Funny how this flavor comes for age 1-6 and then 11+. What about in between that Hills?

Disappointed

I wanted to transition my senior to this 11+ diet. It is one of the only varieties with texture other than the 'hated' pate. He licked up the juice, but would not try one bite of the actual food. I even top dressed it; tried mixing in some of his old food, but nothing would entice him to eat it. He's back on his prior diet for now, while I try to find an age appropriate and correctly balanced nutritional wet food worth trying.

16 year old cat enjoyed her new food

My 16-year-old cat has been having various urinary issues and her vet recommended that we keep her on a strict CD or SO diet now, preferably soft foods to give her more fluid in her diet. She was enjoying the canned seared tuna and carrot recipe for over 11 year olds, and we have found that Hills also makes similar recipes in a CD prescription formula, which she likes.

Picky eaters

My 2 kitties became picky eaters and stopped eating the food I was buying. Not cheap brand either. Decided to try this cause they still likes fish. They love it!
