We switched our older Maine Coon to this food, and it's a game changer for him - plus, he loves it! Our big guy has struggled with soft, odiferous stool for much of his life, despite various diet experiments, but within days of switching to Hill's Science Diet Adult 11+, his stool began to normalize. It's been about 6 weeks now and, for the first time in his life (since we adopted him), his stool is completely normal and (more or less) odor-free. We couldn't be happier! I still think this is one of the most high quality foods you can feed your cat at a reasonable price, however I wanted to make it aware how ungodly HARD these kibbles are. I normally soak her food in water and mix some wet food in for added moisture/ease of eating, but these kibbles resemble rocks. They are very big (she’s about 6.5 pounds) and honestly rock solid. I struggle to even crush them up for her. I tried smashing with a glass salsa jar in the metal bowl, a hammer, a ceramic pill crushing bowl, and a blender and even after soaking the kibbles in warm water for an hour+, they are nearly impossible to break. Just beware if your cat is missing teeth or struggles to chew normal food as they will not be able to eat this food. … more
