What is the kibble size of this stew? My dog has lost majority of her teeth. She is a small breed dog (Morkie) weighing around 7 pounds. The only 7+ small breed stew is chicken and she is allergic. Will this stew be too big for her to eat?
Answer by VivienneApr 27, 2022
it absolutely will, I got this for my dog (also a small breed) and I have to cut it down for her. not really worth the trouble tbh.

is it grain free
Answer by ChewyOct 30, 2017
This product is not grain-free.

What I’m the world is “pork plasma” and why is it in this dog food?
Answer by ChewyAug 17, 2022
Pork plasma is a form of protein. It is in Hill's food as a protein source for your pet's nutrition and as a part of the formula that helps to maintain the texture of the products.

can I use this food rather than Science Diet WD?
Answer by ChewyJul 31, 2020
The w/d variety is specifically formulated by veterinarians to meet the needs of your dog that this traditional formula would not. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian to see if this is a viable option for your pet.

Favorite for my senior mini schnauzers

I have two senior mini schnauzers who struggle with pancreatitis and sensitive tummies. I feed them an Rx food from Science Diet but it's really bland and they don't enjoy it. I started supplementing with this half their meal and it doesn't bother their tummies at all and they love it. Plus it's much more affordable. My girls are 20 pounds each and the chunks are pretty big so I do use scissors to snip them in half, but my husband does not when he feeds them and they still eat it no problem. I just cut it since they are smaller dogs. I think a really tiny dog would find the chunks way too big tho.

Dog gets Energy

I tried other brands with similar or less price point but I keep coming back to this brand because I notice how this food gives my dog energy. Also he has healthy poops :)

terrible consistency

My dogs love the taste of the savory stew but the consistency of the contents is terrible. This last case each can is filled mostly with liquid and only about less than 1/2 of food in each can. It is like soup. Other cans had no liquids and was kind of dry but many more chunks of food. I will have to look for another brand as every new case is a different situation. Very disappointed with this product. I would not recommend to anyone.

Not Thrilled

I wanted my dog to like this food. She generally prefers stew-type wet foods to the pate varieties. She is also getting up there in age so I want her to have some senior-specific food in her diet. She ate a few trays of it begrudgingly. I could tell she was only eating it because she had waited until she was really hungry. Now she won't touch it. Hopefully the Purina pro plan beef recipe for seniors comes back in stock soon, she loved that one. I do think this food is good quality and a good choice for senior dogs, I just don't think the taste is thrilling if you have a dog that is a little bit discerning when it comes to food.

Dogs loved it

I ordered 2 cases because it was on sale after Thanksgiving. Was a Great deal! I feed 6 dogs (ages 4 to 15) and they get this on top of their regular kibble as a topper in the morning feeding. They love it and seems to agree with all of them even the one with sensitive stomachs. Not sure if I can afford to buy it all the time but I will continue to get it in between cooking for them.

Loves turkey

The only kind of dog food I buy is science diet. Tank eats a whole can at every meal. It's his favorite kind of food.

Senior girl love this

My old corgi is thriving off this food. She's got missing teeth and it's hard to eat kibble these days. Got this to mix with her kibble and some days this is all she will eat. Healthy and going strong.

gravy rich with veggies and beef!

I buy this food to pour over my dogs dry food. The gravy seeps in and makes the dry food tasty!

Small Breeds

This stew is not for small breeds, the chunks will need to be cut up for small dogs to swallow. Once cut up the stew was gobbled up.
