Improved Energy

I have two different-energy dogs who are about 13 years old. My lower-energy beagle mix reacted well to this food and was more active in playtime. My higher-energy Border Collie mix dog reacted with anxious behavior for a month and was destructive when left alone at home (which she has done on other high protein foods, too) so I put her back on Science Diet 7+ Chicken and Rice.

Great dog food

This food is great for senior dogs. It’s not as hard for them to eat. Love chewy. I can always depend on them for promptness.

My Dog Loves This!!

I wanted to give my dog a little variety in her diet and not give her just beef all of the time. She is 8+ years old, so she needs a senior diet. She dove right into this the first time I gave it to her. She loves it and always wants more.

Made my dog constipated

I don’t know what’s wrong with this food or what ingredient made it almost impossible for my dog to poop. I have a 7 year old lab. She walks religiously every morning and evening at the same time. In 7 years she always pooped in the am and pm. When she started with this food, I noticed a struggle to poop making me late for work or having to hire a dog walker to go see her to make her poop. The size of the poop? Extremely small for such a large dog. Even after walking for over 1 hour, she still will not poop. In the beginning I thought it was the adjustment to the new food. Now, almost a month I can honestly say this was the worst food I’ve ever given her and would never purchase it again.

dog won't eat this food

I'm really bummed....we had the 7+ perfect digestion dry food and my dog stopped eating it, and had no interest after a while. and stopped eating it. He has absolutely no interest in this either. and won't eat it. He has not been a picky eater until I started feeding him Hills after he needed a prescription recipe for a short time. It looks like I'll have to try a different brand of senior food or just feed him the 7+ canned beef stew since he loves that. I know Hills is an excellent brand but I wish they had beef in the dry food recipes that might help.
