What is the ingredient difference between 1-6 and going up to 7
Answer by ChewyNov 09, 2018
The ingredients are similar, but have differing quantities that affect the nutritional value. Older dogs need less calories, less fat, and additional nutrients. So the 7+ also includes pork liver and dried beet pulp. I've attached a chart that compares the foods nutritionally.

What is used for chicken liver flavor? My dog is suspected of being allergic to chicken.
Answer by ChewyOct 16, 2018
Natural liver flavor is a spray dried powder made by breaking down animal tissue (in this case poultry). It is a high-quality ingredient used as a natural flavoring for pet food.

Where is the source of the ingredients?
Answer by ChewySep 17, 2020
This food is made in the USA. Hill's sources raw materials only from countries where there are reliable safety procedures in place, primarily in the United States, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and several European countries.

Can we store unused food in the refrigerator?
Answer by ChewyAug 26, 2021
Prior to opening, store cans in a place where the temperature is between 50-100°F. Do not freeze canned cat or dog food as it can change the texture and taste of the food. Your pet’s bowl should be emptied of moist or canned food not eaten by your cat or dog within 4 hours if the ambient temperature is above 50°F. Opened cans should be stored in the fridge, at temperatures between 40-45°F, for a maximum of 5-7 days. Any cat or dog food remaining after that time should be thrown out.

Really like this dog food

My dog and I like this dog food and it helps make his stools firmer, which is nice. However, I wish it wasn't so hard and difficult to break up. It does not look anything like what you see on the can. It is a hard mass. My dog gets 1/3 of the can mixed with his kibble, which means the rest is refrigerated. That makes this already hard dog food to break up, even harder. I wish it was a softer consistency.

need can opener..

Second batch of canned food that I got and am not happy with. Its dry, can’t even mix it in with the hard food. No pull tab to open? Very hard to use a can opener when they come dented. Sorry Hills I’m choosing another canned food for my pups.

Dogs love it

We buy this food for our older dog who has trouble chewing kibble. His name is Moose and Moose loves the food. So do his younger siblings. So, he recommends it and so do they. I recommend it as well.

Simply the best

We always used Science Diet for years. We were encouraged to try another food for our dogs. We have one young female especially that is very anxious & was loosing too much weight. I switched her to Science Diet canned & everything changed. She gained 10 pounds, her coat was better, her anxiety was less. It is simply the best. We are lab breeders & it is all we use.
