Not Chewys fault but the food in the bag is small bites, is NOT what's pictured on the bag, is NOT regular adult dog food. I went to local pet store and bought a bag to be sure. Maybe the bag I got was just a weird mistake but it makes me hesitant to order more. My dog eats it even though pieces are so small it's hard for her to chew.
The box was barely intact because the packer must get a bonus for using the least amount of tape to secure the box. For a 30+ pound shipment the box had about an inch and a half tape beyond the edge securing it and to open it took merely a slight pull, I was amazed it made it here at all. Please give this packer an extra roll a day.
This is a good, high quality food with the right balance of protein and nutrients. The kibble is moderately small - and I use it for a training treat, too. My 75# best friend loves it! Chewy has this food listed for a good price - with home delivery it makes It perfect!
I tried switching my dog Ash to this brand after some issues with bloating and overly frequent bm from his usual Iams. Ash is an excellent dog when it comes to eating- he has a food dance and gobbles down every bite in record time. I tried the small bag first to see if he would eat it and he would pick through the kibble and leave bits all over the floor when it was mixed with Iams. I bought the 35lb bag and figured he would get used to it since he was tolerating it somewhat. After 1-2 weeks, he is still struggling with eating it. I have resorted to adding copious amounts of water to soften it which seems to be the best help I can offer him. The kibble is so hard, he struggles to eat what he picks up out of the bowl and has to spit it back out. Really disappointed since everyone raves about this brand, but I will likely have to donate the $70 bag of food and switch AGAIN. :(
The bag was delivered with the seal removed. Pretty straight cut by the looks of it. Customer service said that they would send me a replacement bag and it should be delivered in a couple of days. Unfortunately, I didn't open the Chewy box until I ran out of dog food.
Goldie, our new retriever, was fed with this Hills in the resource center. After adoption, we continued with the Hills product and she eats all of it at both of her daily feedings. Thanks Chewy for being a great supplier.
When I got my dog, he was just a puppy and the breeder had him on a different brand. He was itching and scratching when I got him home and tried the Science Diet and he loved it and his itching stopped. I also get him the large breed now that he's an adult, but my daughter is here with her 2 dogs and we have a foster dog, and they are smaller than my 90# brute, so I've been getting this bag too, as it has smaller bites for the smaller dogs. They all love it.
Since rescuing my dog he has been having issues with diarrhea and vomiting, though to be irritable bowl. I switched him to this and within a couple of days I started to see improvements.
My dogs did love the food but the food (Barley) did not love them. They were very very sick for days and had to stop giving them the food.
Hills makes high quality, well balanced food for my Aussie. Hills is all he has ever eaten and still loves it after 11+ years. Shipping was quick and easy.
