Dog gets sick

I have been feeding my dog this food for a few months now. The last bag I received has been making her sick every time she eats it and she clearly has decided she does not like how it smells or tastes because we put it side by side with our other dogs food and she chooses the other food every time. When we feed her this food, she sniffs it and looks at us like, “do I really have to eat this?” Which is extremely unlike a Labrador since they will eat literally anything. The food also just literally stinks in general.

grain

It’s all grain! Have you looked at the ingredients?! Sure chicken is the first ingredient, but the rest are common inflammatory products. Do you research, dogs don’t need grain! I work with a company that requires me to feed this to my dog, and it’s the worst thing ever. She is always itchy, her coat is dry and she doesn’t have normal bowel movements anymore….

Healthy and tasty

My dog loves it, and so do I! I gave it to my last dog. The rescue org where I got her recommended Hill’s Science Diet brand as it has approval from actual vets. For my new dog, the shelter had been feeding him canidae. He had mild diarrhea when I got him, but that went away when I transitioned him to this food. Fits great in a slow feeder.

The food is fine. Problem with heartworm meds

I've been using chili for years and suddenly I'm having a problem. I have to return the trifexis because my dog had a reaction to it. Trying to order simporic and it's a problem I have called twice and now I have to call back in an hour and call my vet. I'll just get it from my bed rather than waste my time more time. This is supposed to make it easier

he loves it!

My mini Bernedoodle (30 lb) loves this food! He’s tried a few different flavors of the Purina Pro plan dry kibbles and they have either been too large for him or he just turns his nose to it and I’d have to mix with wet food for him to eat, not with this one! He will go and paw the bag or carry his bowl over to me asking for his dry kibble and is excited to eat! The pieces are thin enough for him to easy crunch and they fit inside his puzzle feeders. It’s pricy but if he loves it then so do I :) also, his poops have been perfect!

Stop changing the food!!

My Lab loves the Science Diet food. However, when you mess with the consistency and change from large chunks to the smaller pieces it messes with his stomach and he won’t eat it for a couple of days. Then the same thing happens when you change it back to the larger chunks. Pick one size and stay with it!!!!

Great but price keeps increasing

We adopted our dog in Aug 2020 and Hills Science Diet is the only kibble we feed our dog - he loves it. Unfortunately, going back to as recent as May 2021, we used to pay 54.99 for this 35 pound bag and as of April 2023 it's now 78.99. I get inflation, but a 43% increase is insane. Instead we supplement with boiled chicken, white rice, celery and carrots. More affordable than kibble...

Raphy loves it!

This is the first dog I’ve had whom I fed Science Diet. I adopted him as an adult and wanted to keep him on the same food. He definitely enjoys it and I like that it’s what my vet recommends as well.

Our dog enjoys this food! He has a sensitive stomach and this seems to be the food that works for him. It has a similar fat content to the gastrointestinal prescription foods. It is pricey, but I think long-term it is worth it. I do give him less than the feeding guideline as he is not an active dog, and he still keeps weight. Plus, he receives wet food mixed with it for dinner. All in all, 2 paws up for this household!

Husky approved

My Siberian Husky rescue dog is a bit of a picky eater. She ate very little of the dry dog food the shelter fed her and was underweight. She likes this food and eats better. She has even gained some weight and is growing towards a healthy weight.
