What is the difference between the small breed advance fitness and Hill's Science Diet Adult Small & Toy Breed Dry Dog?
Answer by ChewyJul 19, 2018
Both formulas have less than 1% difference in caloric, protein, fat, and fiber content. The Hill's Science Diet Adult Advanced Fitness Small Bites formula uses fresh chicken as the first ingredient instead of chicken meal and has an added blend of omega-6 fatty acids.

What is the difference between the “small bites” and “small paws” formulas?
Answer by ChewyJan 23, 2020
Both recipes contain nourishing Omega-6 & Vitamin E blend for healthy skin & luxurious coat and high-quality protein for lean muscles. However, the Small Paws variety contains a special Small & Mini antioxidant blend for lifelong immune support. The Small Bites kibble is approximately 9 x 4 mm, while the Small Paws kibble is approximately 7.5 x 4.5 mm.

please compare the small bites chicken and barley food (science diet) vs. the adult chicken and barley formula (regular and large bites) as my puppy approaches 1 year and is between 25 - 30 lbs and I would like to transition from the puppy formula
Answer by ChewyMay 07, 2020
Both of these foods share the same exact benefits and ingredients. The only difference is that the Small bites formula offers a small kibble size.

My puppy is now a little over 1 years old & looking to purchase the adult small bites if the ingredients are the same in puppy and adults small bites size do I need to be slow on introducing the adult brand as far as for the stomach upset.
Answer by ChewyJun 01, 2019
A gradual transition to any new pet food is important to avoid digestive upset. To transition, it is recommend to mix your pet’s current food with the new food. Over 7 days, gradually decrease the amount of the current pet food while increasing the amount of new pet food.

Perfect Change for Blanca

Our 11 year old podenca Blanca had been turning up her nose to her previous kibble. Even adding bits of chicken or beef didn’t really entice her. She is a slow eater and doesn’t like big kibble. I decided I’d try Hills Science Diet particularly because of the small bites. Blanca is now excited about her food and happy to eat it. I think the combination of the taste and the small bites has done the trick. I’m happy that she is happy!

Good but inconsistent?

There's no real issue when it comes down to my dogs liking the food, but it seems like there's inconsistencies in batches - we order the "Small Bites", but sometimes a whole bag will have larger kibble another bag will have actual smaller bits.

She loves the small bites.

I got the regular size dog food. This time I got the smaller bites. She just ate them playing out of the bowl without any canned dog food on top of it.

Hills Dog Food

Unfortunately, both dogs don’t seem to be a fan of this food. This is the third bag I’ve gotten and now they don’t really want to eat this one.

Love Hills Science Diet!

We feed all of our dogs Hills and they love it. From when my youngest was a puppy to now, we have grown with Hills and continue to love them! This food is a great transition for your small dog who shouldn’t be on puppy food anymore!

Perfect food for my Corgi

I have used brands such as Iams in the past, but my Corgi often had digestive issues. Since she has started Hill's, there has been no diarrhea. She goes regularly, but there is less waste and it is more solid. She also loves the taste. I would definitely recommend this food.

Probably will not purchase again

My little dogs are very picky. I've been having trouble finding the food they normally eat so thought I would try a couple new ones. Unfortunately it was not successful. That's not to say there's anything wrong with this food. It just didn't attract my dogs

Great Food

We really like this food. I used it for my rescue dog who had bad dental injury from his previous life before living with us. With the smaller pieces, it was easier for him to chew up and eat. His coat was shiny as a result of this food, I think.

As expected!

My pups have been eating this for years and are as healthy as can be. I had been purchasing it locally, as you "buy ten bags, get one free!" but when I finally sat down and did the math..it was still cheaper to come through Chewy, not to mention the convenience of it coming right to my door!

Solid dog food option

My adopted bichpoo had a very sensitive tummy when we first got him a couple years ago. I was recommended this food by a friend who works at a pet store. I’ve never had any issues with this food for him. I don’t plan to change it until he surpasses the recommended “age limit” on the food.
