A gradual transition to a new pet food is important to avoid digestive upset. To transition, mix your pet’s current food with the new food. Over 7 days, gradually decrease the amount of the current pet food while increasing the amount of new pet food.

The treats I got were not as soft as expected, which seems to be the same as others with recent reviews. I double checked the best-by date and they were nowhere near expiring, so maybe these just vary from batch to batch. They aren't crunchy, nor crumbly, but are dense little cookies. My dogs go crazy for them and don't have trouble biting into them. I don't think I would have good luck breaking them into bits for training. If you're expecting a really soft treat, this might not be it.
CHEWY IS WRONG! THESE TREATS ARE NOT SOFT OR TENDER.

I bought these for my older Chihuahua as she is having issues with her teeth. They are NOT SOFT. She can't bite into them and I can't even break them into smaller pieces. There are several other treats advertised as soft that are truly soft, such as Rachel Ray's burgers or meatballs, Blue Buffalo bits and Canine Carry Outs (although they are my dog's favorite, I'm convinced they are made out of playdough). If you are looking for something tender for your pup, keep looking. Don't waste your money on these tough treats.
Puppy loves them

My husky mix loves these treats I was not for sure if he would or not because when they came in they were not as soft as I thought they would be and he loves soft treats over hard treats but he loves them and they're still soft enough where I can piece up to put him in his crate

I always buy hills science brands, they spend their money on science determining a healthy diet for each breed rather then advertising like most companies. I get my food from the vet for a cheaper price but these are a very good quality biscuit for a low price! Recommend 100%

Enjoyed but not soft

Our aging English Bulldog enjoyed these, but they are not soft. As her teeth are now at the point where hard treats aren't as enjoyable as they once were, we look for soft treats for her to enjoy. These are not soft, they are so hard that you can't squeeze them with your fingers. But, our girl seemed to like them.

I’ll be honest, I put these in my cart to earn the free shipping, but it turns out my dog really likes them! He prefers soft treats and he gets excited when he sees me go near the treat cabinet for these! They have his stamp of approval.
Not as soft as you would hope

I have an older Doxie who has had his teeth pulled. I really wanted these to be soft enough for him but they aren’t. I have a younger dog who can eat them but that’s not why I bought them.
Our Dog loves these!

My older dog is no longer a fan of crunchy dog treats, so these are a big hit! Both our dogs really like them, and they are easy to break into pieces to use as training treats too.
Hard as rocks

I bought these for my almost toothless yorkie, thinking they would be easy to break apart and she would be able to handle them. These are rock hard and cannot be broken apart easily.
