Description

Himalayan Dog Chew is a very hard chew. Although cheese, it is sometimes popularly referred to as Concrete, Glass, Wood and Metal. Depending on the size and eating habits of the dog, this is a very long-lasting dog chew. Dogs must work the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before small parts of it can be slowly scraped off.

Himalayan Dog Chew is 100% natural with no preservatives. It is an authentic type of cheese eaten by the people of the Himalayas. When you give this chew to your dog, you know that you are providing them with hours of high quality eating entertainment.

Key Benefits

  • Made from 100% yak and cow milk, salt, and lime juice, and takes hours of chewing to soften it enough to scrape a tasty bite off
  • All-natural treat, no binding agents, and is grain & gluten free
  • Great for removing plaque and promoting oral health
  • Low odor and non-staining
  • Fully digestible and a healthy treat

  • 3 Dogs Love It!

    By on

Two of our 3 dogs absolutely love it and will immediately begin chewing it. These two dogs are chewers and will spend half the day trying to eat it all up in one sitting! This keeps the Rottweiler puppy focused, much like a favorite toy for a child. It is very hard and great for teething puppies. Our third dog (in pic), likes to take her time. I give it 5 stars for quality and durability. The picture shows the average size of the product. They vary in shapes and size because they are sold by weight. This brand does not put any starch or filler in this product.

  • dog likes it, doesn't LOVE it

    By on

The dogs used to chew these himalayan chews all the time, but we took a break bc they were so expensive before. They seem to be cheaper now, but my dog is not as interested in them (new recipe, maybe?). When I gave it to them, they took it, but did not chew on it. One of my dogs only picks it up when he's really bored and feels like chewing. On the plus side, because it is so hard and the large side is awkwardly big for him chi/corgi mouth - it has noticeably removed plaque from his teeth.

  • XXL/70 lb chew perfect for a Standard Poodle. Lasts a long time

    By on

My Standard Poodle puppy who was a big time chewer would go through one every 2 weeks up until age 1. I now have 2 adult Standard Poodles and it takes them about 2-3 months to finish one. They are moderate/occasional chewers. The XXL is a better value and perfect size for a Standard Poodle. The added bonus is that their breath smells great after chewing unlike most animal based chews out there. It is also good for the environment unlike the synthetic chews. I have tried the knockoffs and they are not the same quality. This is the only chew we buy.

  • Fantastic dog chew

    By on

I have been buying these chews for a few months now and they last! We have transitioned our Aussie from bully sticks to these since he destroys bully sticks rather quickly. My only complaint is sometimes when he drops them they break in half. When this happens I usually worry he will swallow so I take them away. I would highly recommend these bones to any big chewers.

  • My dogs love these chews!

    By on

I can't keep enough of these on hand. My dogs love them. My 1 year old is a constant chewer she picks this one every time. The 2 year old doesn't chew as much but he prefers these when he does. They last about a week which is great. My dogs are 8 and 13 pounds I like the larger size because they last longer. They are a good size for the 8 pound dog as well. When the chew is small enough to become a choking hazard I pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds they puff up like a marshmallow. The dogs get so excited when they smells them cooking. Happy pups, happy mom!

  • Not for Heavy Chewers

    By on

I read the reviews and was extremely hopeful at the idea that this would last anywhere from a week to a month. There were a small handful of reviews claiming it was chewed in no time flat but a large majority experienced otherwise so I was hoping it would have worked. Unfortunately the Extra Large was down to an inch in under ONE HOUR by my 69 pound lab hound mix. She's a little over a year old and aside from quality tennis balls and extra thick knotted rope, nothing last past the 1 hour mark with her. I was hopeful this "concrete cheese" as it's often called, would provide her with a long happy chew toy, instead it was more of a cheese treat devoured in no time.

  • Not the same as the others

    By on

My dog wouldn't chew on this, I almost returned it but decided to microwave it for a bit to turn it into a cheese puff. The consistency of this isn't the same as other yak milk bones. Didn't turn into the same textured cheese puff either, very hard and grainy. My dog did eat it once I "cheese puffed" it.

  • Okay chews

    By on

I purchased this for my high-energy, 70-pound Labrador. This is not for heavy chewers at all. I took it away from him multiple times so he could not eat it in one session. Even with my interventions, it only lasted approximately 2 1/2 hours. I am giving three stars because my dog truly enjoyed it. It is a natural-based chew, it's not messy, and it does not have any weird smells. I will purchase another one in the future when they are on sale, but I refuse to pay full price for these.

  • You don't get amount show

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I'm a little upset because the photo shows FOUR pieces in the size small bag and the two bags I received each only had three. Three is fine I guess; but why show four in the photo when the customer will not receive that many? Overall the quality was good. My dogs are under 10 pounds so eating them quickly was not an issue. They also enjoyed the ends being "puffed" in the microwave.

  • BIZARRE DOG TREATS!

    By on

Well, I had NO idea you had to microwave these rock hard rods into little mushroom clouds! Sure enough...stick it in there and it starts ballooning up! One of the strangest things I've ever seen! My Maltese did like it after that. But you do have to microwave them! Good luck!
