Description

Himalayan Dog Chew is known for making innovative treats from Himalayan hard cheese, and their Yaky Churro Vegetable Dog Treats provide a uniquely delicious example. These authentic treats are made in the USA but they follow an ancient recipe that converts milk into hard cheese using the same methods and techniques perfected by the people of the Himalayas. A dash of salt, wholesome spinach, and a splash of lime are added, and the cheese is sundried, smoked, and made into a chewy churro stick. The result is a smoky veggie and cheese-flavored treat with a softer texture that’s easier for all dogs to chew, even puppies and seniors.

Key Benefits
  • Himalayan cheese churro with veggie & cheese flavor
  • No lactose, grains or gluten
  • Softer texture that’s easier for all dogs to chew, even puppies and seniors
  • Has natural enzymes that help remove plaque from your dog's teeth
  • The unique shape of yakyCHURRO gets to those hard to reach places between teeth
Precautions

Always supervise your pet during consumption. Remove any potentially hazardous materials immediately. Consult your veterinarian if your dog has food sensitivities or medical issues before feeding.

  • Great for puppies

Needed something softer for a puppy and these are perfect. He's a large breed puppy so they don't last very long but it is better for their baby teeth.

My dogs love these! They constantly fight over them. I wish more came in a pack!! They do not look appetizing, but my babies enjoy them.

  • Shouldn't Have Made This Purchase

I bought these without much thought. I grabbed them at a local pet store because my Goldendoodle is out of bully sticks (her favorite and my favorite for her) and they're too expensive unless you get them on Chewy (but I didn't want to pay the shipping). I figured maybe these would hold her off for a while. I didn't realize that these are TREATS and definitely not something that last. I gave my pup one of them and I was astonished to see that she was finished within minutes. At first, I thought maybe she hid the stick. But alas, these crumble pretty easily, and I've watched her devour these within minutes a couple of times now. Taking into account the price for them/only 4 in a bag, plus the I bought these without much thought. Maybe these would be good for little dogs that can take their time with the chew? Maybe if your dog is already an avid dairy consumer and won't have giant, nasty bowel movements afterwards? It's just not worth it to me. … more

  • Scooby Approved!

    By on Top 25 Contributor

With the cats always getting a little something, once again, it was Scooby turn and I do not think she was disappointed! She always seems to have an instinct when I have something for her and she sure did sit and wait patiently to get this treat! Okay, this is only a guess because I did not, I repeat, I did not try these. However, Scooby did! I gave her the bone and she instantly went to go lay down in her bed and chow down right away. I swear, I thought she hadn't eaten in a week! These did not get ditched off like other bones that she goes back to take a lick every once in a while. No, she went to her bed and munched down on these. She gobbled her bone down and was done within a couple minutes With the cats always getting a little something, once again, it was Scooby turn and I do not think she was disappointed! No, she went to her bed and munched down on these. She gobbled her bone down and was done within a couple minutes. To note, Scooby is a medium-sized dog to give a general idea, but the bone was a standard size fitting her size that we normally would get on average. So it's not a tiny bone, but it's not huge either. Unlike other dog bones we have given Scooby in the past, these are a bit different as far as texture goes. Seriously, they remind me of a churro - not something I have noticed in dog bones before. They do feel solid, not super hard like saw those rawhide bones. Because of the texture and make of the bone, however, there are no splintering pieces, which makes these a bit safer compared to others we have tried. Also, I noticed there's a not a huge mess when Scooby is done munching, either. She may just lick up the mess - but either way, I'll take what I can get!Yet, another plus to this bone! Okay, so it's a bone so don't expect it to be 100% healthy. To me, bones are the equivalent to junk food for humans. So while I expect the high-quality ingredients in my pets everyday food that they eat, when it comes to their treats I'm not picky about ingredients. With that said, however, I was very pleased to find out that these bones are gluten-free and grain-free. I mean, I can even understand what most of the ingredients are listed are! Take a look at the ingredients list: Potato Starch, Cheese (Pasteurized Processed Skimmed Milk, Salt, Lime Juice) Spinach, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Vegetable Glycerin. Needless to say, this was a pleasant experience for Scooby. She thoroughly enjoyed her new treats and was always eager to eat more. These are definitely now on our "treats we must have" list and definitely recommend giving them a try! They have other flavors available as well to fit your dogs taste buds! … more

  • Perfect hardness and texture

    By on

This chew is the perfect hardness, density, and texture for my little 8 pound Boston Terrier puppy. She won't chew on it for hours at a time, but she does love it enough that she hides it to find it later. It seems to last a while... soft enough she can get some off, and hard enough that tons of it isn't going through her. Great chew. I got vegetable flavor... will try some others when we run out of these.

  • My chihuahuas love these!

    By on

They are cheaper amd healthier than some of the other chews and my dogs love these. I like that I dont need to worry about our dogs chipping a tooth (which has happened with the harder chews and its expensive to remove/fix). They also seem to help keep their teeth clean and keeps them busy for a lil while.

  • Eat your vegetables

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My pup LOVES fruits and vegetables so these Veggie Churros were not a hard sell. They last a couple minutes and keep my pups pearly whites nice and bright. They still have a Smokey cheese smell so your picky pup will not know they’re eating something good for them. Only down side is in the picture it shows broccoli and carrots but when it arrived the only vegetable was spinach? I’ve noticed Yaky doing some rebranding but keep the buyer informed. Other than that, two paws up!

  • Didn't like it as much as I liked the Puffs

    By on

This churro wasn't something I liked personally as compared to the puffs by Himalayan. Maybe it will depend on your dog and his liking for churro sticks but my dog certainly didn't go at it immediately. Apart from that this churro is fully vegetarian if you're looking for an option.

  • My dog loves these dog chews

    By on

I was looking for a "bone" type of a chew or treat to keep my dog Maddie occupied and satisfy her urge to chew. I appreciate that these are made in the USA and feel good about giving them to her. She LOVES them. They don't last long!
