    I have a 1 yr old lab/doberman mix and switched to this from a different large breed specific food because of my worry that it was just too rich for him and possibly giving him peristent poop problems and wonder if it made him more susceptible to contracting giardia 3 different times.     Oscar Is Not a Fan

    After days of research, found this to be the closest match to the nutrient needs of our Dane puppy with the right amount of calcium, calcium/phosphorous ratio, high quality protein, whole grains for fiber and not too high in fat. So of course Oscar doesn’t love it. So of course Oscar doesn’t love it. Like a picky toddler, I have to add pumpkin purée and salmon or beef broth to get him to eat any of the kibble. I would try the lamb and rice variety to see if it’s just a flavor preference but that one has chickpeas for some reason, which is shown to be associated with DCM (not necessarily causative but I’m not willing to risk it). … more
