Extended chew time? Yes and no... It's longer than a normal jerky treat, but for my 50lb dog, it only takes him a minute or two to power through one of these. Definitely won't replace any bully sticks, but what's great about this is that my dog will actually eat them and won't just cache it like he does with his bully sticks and other long-lasting chews. They're definitely fishy smelling, but not a bad smell (if you're used to cooking and eating fish already). I love that they're fairly low-calorie "longer lasting" chew option. 1 large chew is about 50-60 calories I believe. Sometimes though, the bag has more thin chews versus thicker and wider chews, which can suck depending on your perspective. Sometimes it's nice to be able to give my dog a yummy treat, even if it doesn't last as long, and it's less calories. Sometimes, I want to satisfy his chewing needs and those thin sticks don't do the trick. Regardless, I'd repurchase this again and again... especially if they're on sale, I'd stock up!
My dogs loved bully sticks until these became their new chew treat. I recently took my dogs to the dentist and their teeth are beginning to wear down from chew bully sticks. I love these treat because they aren't as hard as bully's and can be cut with kitchen scissors to split them. No they don't last as long as bully's but still gives them an adequate amount of chewing. Where the bully's aren't as easily digested for my boys, there is no digestion issues with these. In the end the dogs said it all when I gave them the option of bullies or these wolffish skins, they both grabbed the wolffish skins and ran off with them.
My dog loves the fish skin treats. She has allergys to grains and chicken. It is so hard to find treats. These are a winner ! So great!
These claim it’s an extended chew time but they last all of 5 minutes due to how thin they are. The cod skins last approximately 15 minutes compared to them & are a lot bigger. I will try to add a comparison photo. Super disappointed & we will not be buying these again.
I bought these chews upon a recommendation from a trainer. While they do smell a bit all dogs like smelly things. These are very irresistible to dogs once they've had a couple of chances to try it. It prevents dogs from jumping on guests because they're so interested in the chew. If your dog likes to chew on leathery/flat cloth like objects this is perfect. I found that most the time my dogs don't even gobble it they just chew on it to soften it up so the thicker pieces seem to last longer than just one session. I just throw it into a ziploc to keep it feel and it's good as new. It's also just 100% one ingredient (fish skin) so no worries about extra fillers or potential allergies. Upon ordering a second bag I also got bigger thicker pieces. The first bag had smaller thinner broken pieces so it does seem like a bit of a gamble per bag. Chewy is really good about refunding their products. So even though these are slightly expensive I think they're worth it and there's no big downside because you can always get a refund if they don't work for your dogs.
These are my dog's FAVORITE treat ever! Though a bit smelly-obviously because they're fish-they're extremely healthy & she loves them. We always need them in the house.
Is great for emergency chewing situations but they do not last long and they smell
These don't last as long as bully sticks, but our dog will always pick these first if given a choice! We wrap them in paper for her to shred or hide them around the room for her to find. They last longer than cod skins.
My dog absolutely LOVES these wolfskin treats! She waits by the cabinet everyday so that I can give her one. They're a bit pricey because she goes through them so quickly but I can't help but to spoil my baby!
Great for small dogs. Not really extended chew time but my dogs love these.
