My Boxer puppy, now six months old, has always been way more interested in playing and exploring than in eating. She's on an excellent quality kibble, which I've fed my dogs for many years with great success in palatability, flesh condition, coat condition, and general health. Cali eats it if she's hungry enough, and hasn't shown any signs of preferring the performance version over what's usually offered. As a result of her enthusiasm for encountering all of life's awesomely intriguing things to check out, play with, chew on, and snuggle with, and her indifference to mealtime, Cali looks as if she's an abused orphan waif with distinctly countable ribs. I've tried a few things to get her to eat, but I really don't want her to become hooked on special stuff. I did make a 24-hour chicken with gizzards and bones turned to mush, and used that with her kibble, but the fat content was so high that she was CONSTANTLY fumigating the entire house with an unbearable stench. We just couldn't keep that up. I love the idea of bone broth, for lots of healthful reasons, and this product seems to fit the bill without breaking the bank. I've only fed it to her once so far, and I only used about a quarter of one box mixed in with her kibble. She actually looked at me incredulously and then dove right in and licked the bowl clean.
I have purchased this item the last three orders. But,this time there were no visible vegetables and it was runny, like water. Yogi,my 7 year old American Bully ,eat just about everything. Except this time he got sick, both of us were up all night. It did not occur to me that it was the pour over product. Today,I opened another one,it had NO visible veggies, just runny gravy(?). So disappointing, I thought I had finally found a winner. What happened?
