Ordered this brand because I am always on he lookout for grain free, limited ingredient cat food for my babies so I thought I'd give this a try. (And I also try to stay away from any kind of chicken ingredient.) It looks good and smells good when you open the carton, but my fur babies just didn't like it at all. They would push it around their bowls and leave quite a bit behind. It's not cheap and I've got several cartons left, so I have been mixing it with other brands they do like just so I don't waste it. So for me and my babies, this was not a good choice and will not be buying again.
I think this Cate is a great food for my cats. THK's well forumlated diet and in a soft food that my toothless senior can eat. Some of the other flavors didn't get by the pickiness but the turkey and chicken were eaten well.
My kitten has a sensitive stomach and this food helped tremendously with improving his stool. I tried limited ingredient and novel protein recipes from some other brands per vet recommendation, but none helped as much as this one. Most importantly, my kitten loves the flavor and always licks the plate clean. Glad this food is suitable for both kittens and adult cats so I can keep feeding it to him as he grows.
I love it because it is human grade. I wish it wasn't so expensive. But feeding them healthy is worth it
My cat likes the Honest Kitchen "Cate" as well as her regular food. It's rich and appealing. However, it costs three times as much as what she usually eats, so four stars instead of five for its lack of value. Now she has another healthy choice.
If only my cats would eat this. Maybe they are just so accustomed to the canned foods they have been getting they will not eat what's good for them. I had hoped that the pate would have gravy in it to make it more palatable but it doesn't. It's basically just pate which is very wet. I hope others have more luck than I did. I really appreciate the ability to try these different foods because cats are finicky. They may like something this month but not next month. Thank you Chewy.
You can't get better nutrition than this; however, it was not a hit with my kitty. I am now sneaking a little into his other food hoping it will grow on him. Healthy food makes a healthy kitty!
My kitty loves it. Recommended by my daughter with 2 dogs and 2 cats that all eat from Honest Kitchen.
My 10-month old rescue kitten loves this food. At the cat rescue he would not eat ANY wet food, just dry food. He was only 3.5 pounds and underweight. When I brought him home I purchased a bunch of different wet foods to see what he might be willing to eat. He LOVES Honest Kitchen cate's and chows down every time. He loves every flavor. He is now 5 pounds and a very happy and frisky playful little boy. He is well nourished with this human-grade cat food. Our animals deserve real food.
Sorry, to say this did not work for Gibbs. IU thought that this would be a good alternative to the food he was eating - lower in carbs, good quality, but unfortunately it did not turn out that way. This has a somewhat pudding-like consistency. And although he appears interested when I try an open the package, he takes a lick and then walks away. Also, the package is really difficult to open for me. You cannot reclose it easily. I just might be better changing the packaging to something similar to a milk carton style opening. I will not be purchasing this again.
