  2. Stir and wait 3 minutes for food to hydrate.
  3. Pour into your pet's bowl and serve with love.

Transition Instructions

If your dog has never tried our foods before, we recommend starting out slowly. Over a period of 1 to 2 weeks or so, start by adding just a small amount of the Honest Kitchen (with water added) into your dog’s current meals. Gradually increase the amount of the Honest Kitchen while decreasing the amount of your dog’s original diet.

The Honest Kitchen may be mixed in with your dog’s current dry kibble, canned, raw, etc. However, we do not suggest adding in other extra ingredients during the transition if you can avoid it, especially if your pup’s system is very sensitive. After you’ve successfully transitioned your dog to the new food, perhaps after 2-4 weeks or so, and they are doing well, then you may consider adding in extra ingredients or introducing another honest kitchen recipe, etc.

Dehydrated to Lock in Natural Goodness

The Honest Kitchen dehydrated dog foods are made with a single meat protein — free-range chicken, cage-free turkey or hormone-free beef — all sustainably sourced. Their grain-free recipes are great for pups with sensitivities, and the whole grain options are made with organic rolled oats. They're less processed than regular dry food, and dehydrated to retain their natural goodness and flavor.

  • Clearing up Lukky's skin issues

    By on

So out of desperation, we finally tried this dog food because Lukk was developing elephant skin on her tummy. She lost her best friend unexpectedly and spiraled into a depression that messed with her system. Now, three years later, she's doing great, but the elephant skin persisted. We have been trying a variety of kibbles but they would increase her itching. This has been a life saver. She's doing a LOT better. Hardly itches at all. She is a Belgian Malinois mix and runs very, very thin, so I am supplementing this with organic white rice. Be sure to add at least the recommended water because even though it is "soupy," with less water the food becomes the consistency of paste. It also got our 16 year old PomChi to be excited about her food again. We feed the other dogs kibble and then found that by adding a spoonful of this to their food created an over the top excitement so now we mix their kibble with this about half and half. … more

  • She got bored with the food

    By on

We ordered this dehydrated dog food (nearly $100 for 10 lbs.) because she has a terrible problem with ear infections, and thought it might be caused by food allergies. She loved it at first, but now she's tired of it, and won't eat. We have about 1/3 to 1/2 box left, and have to look for something she'll eat. She'll eat it later, I think, but it won't be as fresh. I think it's probably a very good food, just an expensive experiment for us.

  • Picky Eater

    By on

I have a one year old pit that is incredibly finicky about eating. He’s pretty slim still and I would like to put about five pounds in him. I purchased this to keep his appetite up and interested in food or else he will go on hunger strikes... he has been eating quite a bit better since we’ve added this and I like that it can be refrigerated once made.

  • Freeze Dried Raw

    By on

My boy loves this product. He’s not a finicky eater but when it’s feeding time, he can hardly wait until I put his pan down. I have switched to freeze dried raw and cooked human grade food. He’s looking better, but it does look like he’s losing weight. I’ve read a lot of negative information about commercial kibble, even the most expensive grain free products.

  • A lot of food in a little box.

    By on

I feed this to our dogs several times a week and they love it! I buy a box ahead keeping the extra box in our "getaway" bag, noting the expiration date on my calendar. Sure is nice to know that if we have to evacuate our home, for any reason, that the dogs will have easy to prepare food that doesn't take up a lot of space.

  • Honest Kitchen - A sheltie’s best friend

    By on

If you have never tried Honest Kitchen products, I highly recommend the grain-free Turkey. Our 14 year’s young sheltie loves it, and it is very digestible and easy to pack when traveling.

  • Another great hit !

    By on

Just like my review for the fish and coconut oil. All the dogs love it and this one box makes a ton of food. We have big dogs ranging from 72lbs to 91lbs and this fills them up and they all walk around and like each others bowls after they have had this food. It has worked great for one of our dogs who has skin issues and needs to lose weight and I would highly recommend it.

  • Finally a solution for my picky eater!

    By on

We have two Australian Terriers, and one is a very picky eater. I had about given up trying to find something he would eat consistently. This is it! I give them Force (grain free chicken) in the morning and Embark (grain free turkey) in the evening. I add 1/8 cup of Honest Kitchen Bone Broth with Tumeric and a heaping teaspoon of canned pumpkin to each feeding. Using my Keurig to add hot water makes mixing it up a breeze.

  • So impressed!!

    By on

My dog Harley is the pickiest dog I know when it comes to her dog food. Ive tried everything from blue buffalo, Fromm, orijen, and many more! Ive even tried mixing kibble with wet food but NOTHING! The second I put down a bowl of honest kitchen she ate the entire thing and licked the bowl clean. She waits by my side until its done rehydrating. Ive tried many different flavors and so far shes loved them all! This is my favorite though because it is higher protein and a little less carbs than the others. I highly recommend, its a little weird with the consistency at first but truly a healthy food and one that my dog loves!

  • Great for our pup with a sensitive tummy!

    By on

We have been feeding this alone or along with our home cooked dog food for our 1 year old golden retriever pup, with great success. She has a very sensitive stomach and has had a lot of trouble with keeping kibble down and not being sick over the last few months. This smells good enough for us to eat and she loves it. And no upset tummy so far. And we love chewys super speedy shipping.
