How many cups in each bag size?
Answer by ChewySep 22, 2019
There will be approximately 4 cups of clusters per pound. The 1 pound bag will have close to 4 cups, the 5 pound bag close to 20 cups and the 20 pound bag close to 80 cups.

We are getting a new puppy, would the food clusters and/or dehydrated raw food be appropriate to feed?
Answer by ChewyAug 20, 2019
This recipe is complete and balanced for all life stages.

Do I have to add water to these ?
Answer by ChewyNov 12, 2019
These food cluster do not require moistening before consumption.

What is the temperature of the slow roasted process?
Answer by ChewyNov 10, 2019
The dehydration process for the meats and eggs takes place at temperatures above 120 degrees. All other ingredients are dehydrated below 104 degrees and are still considered raw, after drying, with the exception of potato flakes; these are dried using a slightly different process at 284°F for 5 seconds, which helps to break down the cellulose and make them more digestible.

The first time I purchased this (Chicken flavor), I found that way too much of the product had disintegrated into powder. This was over a year ago, so I decided to give it another try, hoping for an improvement. I purchased a small bag of the Turkey flavor, and was pleased to see it held up just fine. I went to re-order and this time selected the Chicken flavor. Don't know why there's such a difference between flavors, but the back of Chicken clusters had the same problem as the one I purchased over a year ago. I understand some of the clusters turn to powder at the bottom of the bag, but this was only about 1/4 of the way through. I love Honest Kitchen, but it felt like I was throwing money away with all this unusable product in the bag.

Dogs love it

Our Border Collies love the Chicken clusters. They didn’t like the beef as well. Chewy’s service and delivery are so fast.

GRAIN FREE

My dog loves this kibble.. only the grain free one though on either turkey or chicken flavor! I accidently bought the bag with grain and he had an allergic reaction :( I stand by the grain free option!!!

Not for us

I had just finished reading an article in the May/June 2023 issue of AKC's Family Dog magazine about foods and Mood under the Food & Nutrition heading. It was noted that foods that contain pulses (peas, lentils, chickpeas, and dry beans) are thought to cause fatal dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs. It had been thought that grain free diets were the culprits, but the FDA has revised that alert, stating it now appears that pulses are the cause. This food has peas and lentils as the 3rd and 5th ingredients, so I will not be feeding our Robbie this recipe. The Honest Kitchen is a great company, but I believe they should revise their recipes of the Grain Free line.

dog food handling

I noticed this w/my first order of dry dog food. I hoped it was a one-off. The problem continued with each delivery. As my husband put it "I've never seen anything like it". Bag of kibble/dry dog food looks like half the bag is powder or kibble dust.

Good Food but too large kibble site size

I was happy about this food, although my 2 years old miniature poodle was not a fan. I think the was too big for her. I mixed it with some wet food to get her to eat it, but she would never finish a bowl. Sadly, we will need to find something comparable in quality but smaller size kibble.

My 5lb bag had over a cup of kibble grinned into powder at the bottoms. My 20lb bag had more than double grinded. Had to throw out the powder portion

Only dry food this picky dog will eat

Tried several other brands before this one, he turned his nose up or actually spit them out, this Honest Kitchen brand he really likes! Thank goodness
