I have 7 cats, some are seriously picky eaters, but not a single one of them will say no to this food! I would give it 5 stars, except it is a bit pricey. That's my only complaint.
Received this food this morning and had to write a review less than 8 hours later, mainly out of relief. My 10 year old ragdoll has always been a pretty good eater, but once my 21 year old cat passed, he became extremely picky. I’ve tried all of his old go to foods and new ones, but he rejected all but 1 and only wanted to eat his lobster Mac n cheese treats, aka junk food. So looked up best wet cat foods for the 100th time and spotted The Honest Kitchen. The reviews were mixed and at the price point I was nervous to purchase based on Oliver’s history. But the 8 pouch variety snack pack was the perfect sampler. We started with the Salmon & Cod and he loved it! Licked the bowl clean, except a few chunks! Placed it in the fridge after opening, knowing that he usually rejects cold food, but wanted to keep it fresh. He has eaten servings throughout the day, has been much calmer, and hasn’t hustled me for treats continuously (which is why I’ve been stressed, I felt he was hungry)—he even walked past the treat jar to go for our afternoon walk! The food has a much more liquid/gravy consistency, which he prefers. And most of the chunks are small enough that he is willing to chew them. It’s the food I’ve been searching for, but had given up on finding. I’m so grateful to The Honest Kitchen, because I was genuinely worried I wouldn’t be able to find a food Oliver liked and one that would have great ingredients that would allow him to thrive. P.S. the food is stinky, just the way Oliver prefers! The downside is you’ll be able to smell your feline before you see them.
Tried this minced food and the pate variety, the kitty kids won't eat it. They play the "how do I cover this stuff up" paw motions. Maybe other cats would like this food, just not mine.
One of my cats sniffed it and flipped his bowl upset down on the mat. The other one just walked away and waited for the next meal to be offered. They did not even try the gravy. I have absolutely no idea what the problem was. They act the same way about shredded chicken which to me smells heavenly. They will drink the broth, but not eat the chicken. I gave it to a friend, but have not heard back yet.
While we haven't tried all the flavors in the package, Gracie likes this company's food and so do I. No, I haven't tasted it although it states that it is made with human grade ingredients. She likes and eats it, and that is what matters.
I've been going through many foods to find the best quality, ingredients and help with weening off dry food. I really like this brand and both my babies seem to as well.
We’ve got a boy cat named Begley that will eat most wet foods but not ferociously and a female cat Millie who is a Fancy Feast addict who isn’t very willing to try new wet foods. We switched both to Honest Kitchen dry and wet foods, not tried the dehydrated version. I’m not shocked they like the dry food. Our boy loves dry food and Millie doesn’t mind what dry food there is she will eat it. But the wet food is out of this world. I have never seen both cats just go crazy for wet food besides Millie and her Fancy Feast classics. We got the variety pack to see which flavors they like and I can’t comment on them all. The Chicken recipe and Salmon/Cod recipes are a home run and they typically don’t prefer anything other than pate. So I’m shocked they loved the minced food. Definitely buying again due to ingredients and Honest Kitchens commitment to better food.
Priya is not very vocal but as soon as this food gets opened she starts meowing and won't stop until she's eating it. Highly recommend this food and also love the packaging.
I love honest kitchen dog food, but this the cats did not like and proceeded to show how much by vomiting it up on the rug. Not chewy fault.
All four of my cats love this! So glad I gave it a try. I will buy again
