Mix well with warm water, stir well and wait 3 minutes then serve with love!

We suggest dividing daily amount into 2 servings, 1 in the AM and 1 in the PM. Our foods must be hydrated with water before serving, but you can add slightly more or less water than we suggest, according to your pet's taste. Refrigerate or discard any leftovers.

Instructions for cups: 1. Tear back seal and add warm water to fill line. 2. Stir and wait 3 minutes for food to hydrate. 3. Pour into your pet's bowl and serve with love.

Transition Instructions

If your dog has never tried our foods before, we recommend starting out slowly. Over a period of 1 to 2 weeks or so, start by adding just a small amount of the Honest Kitchen (with water added) into your dog’s current meals. Gradually increase the amount of the Honest Kitchen while decreasing the amount of your dog’s original diet.

The Honest Kitchen may be mixed in with your dog’s current dry kibble, canned, raw, etc. However, we do not suggest adding in other extra ingredients during the transition if you can avoid it, especially if your pup’s system is very sensitive. After you’ve successfully transitioned your dog to the new food, perhaps after 2-4 weeks or so, and they are doing well, then you may consider adding in extra ingredients or introducing another honest kitchen recipe, etc.

  • Didn't re-hydrate well

    By on

We usually buy the Force (chicken) or Embark (turkey) options, but picked this up when it was significantly on sale to test out. The food did not re-hydrate to a porridge consistency as the Force or Embark varieties do. Instead it remained very watery with chunks of dried bits on the bottom. It stayed this consistency even after waiting 10 minutes. Not sure if this is typical or if we received a bad batch. Our dog still ate it, but would stop and cough often (he normally doesn't take a breath when eating his food).

  • hope. New recipe, NO flaxseed!

    By on

We've only used it for a couple of weeks, but already very pleased. The quinoa didn't sit well with one of my dogs and I don't want the flaxseed... so far so good. If the second ingredient was the sweet potatoes I would have given it 5 stars.

  • Great Food

    By on

The beef and chickpea was pretty good; only thing is that it does take more like 5-10 min to rehydrate. I will try a different Honest Kitchen dehydrated food next time.

  • Healthy, FDA approved Human grade Dog Food

    By on

A quick look at the ingredients list tells you that this is absolutely good food for your dog. They are the only brand that is FDA approved for producing human grade dog food. This is a dehydrated dog food and NOT freeze-dried for those wondering. It is harder to rehydrate compared to freeze-dried as the chunks take about 15 minutes to fully rehydrate hence the 4 stars. My corgi is just staring at me and whimpering as to why his food is not ready in an instance and he has to wait. But that tests his patience right ? :) We feed a 25 lb 10 month old corgi 1/2 cup per meal 2x a day for a total of 1 cup a day and mix in some raw Stella and Chewy beef dinner patties and he loves it. He would rather eat this over Grandma Lucy's which is bizarre to me. We mix room temperature water with the food and stick it in the microwave for 10s, so it rehydrates faster with warm water and you don't have to wait the full 15 minutes. The poop comes out firm but in large quantities and doesn't smell. It is definitely not the same as feeding raw where the poop is very small. So far he's been doing great on this food and will continue to use. … more

  • Great food

    By on

We love the honest kitchen dehydrated limited ingredients food for our retriever mix. She used to get hives all over her body but as soon as we switched to THK we haven't had a single one ever since! We love all the flavors and she gobbles up every flavor as soon as it's in front of her. Excited to try both the new flavors!

  • Great for Pancreatitis-great low fat option

    By on

This food is a must for my Boxer who suffers from Pancreatitis/Liver flare-ups, and she loves the beef flavor. Yes is does reconstitute differently that the other Honest brands, which I am guessing is due to the chickpea? It is a simple fix use warm water and let it set for 10-15 min. I have to give my girl her Rx for high Liver values and it has to be 1hr before food. I have noticed if I fix their food when I give her the pill and let it set for the 1 hr it re-hydrates great(usually needs more water than suggested). The nutritional and quality aspect of Honest Kitchen is the best their is. Thank you Honest Kitchen please keep this flavor in the mix!!!

  • Not for us but still an awesome food

    By on

This brand makes outstanding products. My Teddy, however, will not eat this formula . I normally use HK perference and add my own meats. Thought i would make things easier on myself and get the one with meat included. This formula is very pastie, kind of like stiff puddung, where as the one i add my own meat to is like a chunky stew. So after much coaxing and adding different toppings i finally had to buy a box of preference. So i now have a very expensive box of Hope food he wont eat.

  • She likes it!

One of my 4 bichons is a super picky eater. Just because she eats something one day does not mean she will eat it the next day. She has been eating this every day for weeks now!
