Mix food with warm water, stir well and wait 3 minutes, then serve with love!
We suggest dividing daily amount into 2 daily servings. For larger dogs adjust accordingly. These are only guidelines! Your individual dog's needs will vary with age and activity. You can add slightly more or less water than we suggest, according to your pet's taste. Refrigerate or discard any leftovers.
If your dog has never tried our foods before, we recommend starting out slowly. Over a period of 1 to 2 weeks or so, start by adding just a small amount of the Honest Kitchen (with water added) into your dog’s current meals. Gradually increase the amount of the Honest Kitchen while decreasing the amount of your dog’s original diet.
The Honest Kitchen may be mixed in with your dog’s current dry kibble, canned, raw, etc. However, we do not suggest adding in other extra ingredients during the transition if you can avoid it, especially if your pup’s system is very sensitive. After you’ve successfully transitioned your dog to the new food, perhaps after 2-4 weeks or so, and they are doing well, then you may consider adding in extra ingredients or introducing another honest kitchen recipe, etc.

Dehydrated to Lock in Natural Goodness
The Honest Kitchen dehydrated dog foods are made with a single meat protein — free-range chicken, cage-free turkey or hormone-free beef — all sustainably sourced. Their grain-free recipes are great for pups with sensitivities, and the whole grain options are made with organic rolled oats. They're less processed than regular dry food, and dehydrated to retain their natural goodness and flavor.

Minimally Processed with Natural Ingredients
Each recipe is made with real, whole foods that are minimally processed, not fractions of ingredients. A gentle dehydration process preserves the natural nutrients, rich flavors and wholesome nutrition. You won't find any artificial additives, GMOs, chemical preservatives, by-products, fillers or preservatives.
100% Human Grade From Farm to Bowl
Human grade means that it's good enough for humans to eat, but formulated just for pets. The Honest Kitchen follows the same quality standards for their pet food as the foods you would find at the grocery store. They source the highest quality ingredients directly from the human food chain and produce their recipes in the USA in an FDA-inspected human food facility.

Just Add Water for a Meal in Minutes
Every 10-pound box of The Honest Kitchen dog food contains concentrated nutrition that rehydrates to 40 pounds of fresh food. It might be a small box, but it's full of nutrients from over 10 pounds of beef or poultry plus whole foods like pumpkin, carrots, apples and leafy greens. Simply add warm water, stir and wait just three minutes to serve a great-tasting, nutritious meal for your pup.
Grain-Free Recipes
Force, Embark and Love are all free of grains for dogs with food sensitivities or digestive issues.

Whole-Grain Recipes
Revel, Keen and Verve contain wholesome grains like organic rolled oats and organic barley.

The cats love this as much as the dog does. They have their own, but prefer hers. If they are into hers, she is afraid to go eat it. Have to be the interventionist. Honest Kitchen saved the lives of my 2 13 yr old cats. For two years they vomited most of what they ate. Have not vomited 1 meal of Honest Kitchen food. I felt that if it was that good for them, it had to be good for our Bernese Mtn Dog. They are all thriving and love the food!!

I'll start by saying my dog loves this food. When we switched to it six months ago her behaviour noticeably mellowed. She wasn't rowdy - typical energy for a 2.5 year old of her breed mix - she just seemed more comfortable. We added raw carrots and thawed green beans to bulk up fiber, which resolved some constipation issues. Admittedly, she's very food motivated. However, since feeding her this meat soup she has progressively become more fixated on food. Thinking she needed the crunch, I cut back the amount of food in her 2x/day meals and added the calorie equivalent of dry food to a treat ball. She always has an antler to chew on as well. Today she had a little behaviour blip that sealed the deal of my hunch that dogs need to chew their food, not lap it up. Well, my dog does at least. I don't think I'm anthropomorphizing - I believe the absence of chewing has devoid her of the satisfaction from the crunch and increased her desire for bones/treats/food where she can feel the tactile feedback of eating. This will be my go-to food if she needs it medically. But for now, we're switching her back to something other than meat soup. I rate the food, quality, etc. a 10, but I hesitate to recommend it as an every day food for dogs who don't medically need it. … more

I have three older JRT's that are very picky. They never agree on anything. I have been cooking their food for years but as they get older they have a harder time digesting. I tried frozen raw and one loves it, one tolerates it, the third walks away. This they all love. It looks terrible at first but after it rehydrates, you can see the actual pieces of food. However it is highly digestible to even the 17yr old. It is so convenient not having to deal with the frozen raw or making food. I buy several varieties and alternate them so they get a different flavor each meal. Love this!

I’m so glad I found this food for my two Havanese seniors. My oldest had been taking pain medicine for months and was really struggling. This food literally gave him back his life. He is playing like a puppy now. No more pain meds for this frisky boy. My girl, has lost teeth and she can now enjoy her dinner too. My dogs have always had the best in dog food, but this is the first time they have been really excited about eating. So happy we found it!

I would give this 5 stars because my dogs absolutely love this food but the smell of the food once you add the water quite frankly is disgusting. I think it might be the garlic that is in the food but wow it's pretty bad. I can deal with it though because my guys have never been so excited to eat and that makes me as a dog mom super happy. We switch between the chicken, turkey and beef so this smell I only get every 3rd box :)

My owner called to speak to someone from Honest Kitchen and to ask for advice about changing food. I have been eating zeal almost my entire life, but now it has too much protein for my aging kidneys. It was recommended that we try Keen. I don’t have to go potty in the middle of the night anymore and my owner is very happy. Thank you for the wonderful food you make! Love, Chloe (I’m a 12 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback)

One of my dogs is a very finicky eater the other will eat anything if it smells good, so I tried this too see if they both would eat it and I could quit buying two different dog food products, and they both love it, they know when it feeding time and they are both sitting by thier food bowls even before I start to mix this up, and I must say it is much better smelling than some of the other dog foods I have tried, and it believe it is helping one of my dogs with a skin problem, she would start scratching then loose hair in a spot about an inch in diameter, then the it would start to grow hair back in and another would show up someplace else, they have been on this for 2 months and both thier One of my dogs is a very finicky eater the other will eat anything if it smells good, so I tried this too see if they both would eat it and I could quit buying two different dog food products, and they both love it, they know when it feeding time and they are both sitting by thier food bowls even before I start to mix this up, and I must say it is much better smelling than some of the other dog foods I have tried, and it believe it is helping one of my dogs with a skin problem, she would start scratching then loose hair in a spot about an inch in diameter, then the it would start to grow hair back in and another would show up someplace else, they have been on this for 2 months and both thier coats have now got a much softer feel and the one dog that has the problem has almost stopped scratching and the last spot is growing back in and so far no sign of another spot of hair loss. So I have signed up for auto delivery so I can stay stocked up. I have tried the other blends but they seem to really like the turkey. Plus the size and price beats my supplier locally, they can't seem to get the big box that is on the Chewy site, or they don't want too. So if you have a picky eater give this a try, they will be healthier. … more

I had been searching for a natural food for my Bichon who is both picky and has a sensitive stomach. After reading the reviews and ingredients I decided to give it a try. She loves it and also tolerates it. Great ingredients and I no longer have to cook to provide her with quality, Human grade food.

All of the Honest Kitchen products are made with wonderful ingredients, are fresh, easy to store, easy to prepare, and the dogs really like them. I am confident my dogs are being fed a quality product. Some of the choices are quite pricey, but there are offerings for all budgets.

Ever since my vet recommended Honest Kitchen many years ago, it's been a part of our dogs' food plan. Originally recommended as an easy way to feed them for our yearly drive across country, we use it many times throughout each year too (the base mix and our meat, or the main recipes) . I trust the company, and our dogs love the food!
