Thrive may be fed ad - libitum during growth, gestation or lactation. We suggest dividing daily amount into 2 servings. For larger dogs adjust accordingly. These are only guidelines! Your individual dog's needs will vary with age and activity. You can add slightly more or less water than we suggest, according to your pet's taste. Refrigerate or discard any leftovers.

How to make our food: Mix food with warm water, stir well and wait 3 minutes, then serve with love!

Transition Instructions

If your dog has never tried our foods before, we recommend starting out slowly. Over a period of 1 to 2 weeks or so, start by adding just a small amount of the Honest Kitchen (with water added) into your dog’s current meals. Gradually increase the amount of the Honest Kitchen while decreasing the amount of your dog’s original diet.

The Honest Kitchen may be mixed in with your dog’s current dry kibble, canned, raw, etc. However, we do not suggest adding in other extra ingredients during the transition if you can avoid it, especially if your pup’s system is very sensitive. After you’ve successfully transitioned your dog to the new food, perhaps after 2-4 weeks or so, and they are doing well, then you may consider adding in extra ingredients or introducing another honest kitchen recipe, etc.

  • Honest Kitchen Makes Good Food except

    By on

I have been feeding my girl your food after getting clostridium from a freeze dried raw food and she is doing well, stool firm, but the only problem I find with your food is the consistency is too mushy. It's not real appealing, she eats it reluctantly, but I add cooked turkey or chicken on top so she'll eat it. This quinoa doesn't smell real good, tried the chickpea and it's a little better. Please make more limited ingredient varieties like turkey, chicken with sweet potatoes. She ate sweet potatoes when her intestines were screwed up and inflamed and it is a miracle food.

This food is not as thick as the others. You can’t add the same amount of water to this. My dogs still ate it though.

  • Crazy dogs

I feed this to my two Pomeranians (puppy and 10 year old). They literally go out of their minds over this food. I'm not sure they're even breathing while eating it. It's like crack for dogs or something!!!

  • They love it!

    By on

Our dogs have had health issues in the past. So, when we found Honest Kitchen, it helped tremendously because prior to using it, I was making all the dog food from scratch. But they still needed vitamins that I did not have in the food. So it has been a life changer for our fur babies.

I hate to give a bad review but my dogs turned their noses up and I am so disappointed because it isn't cheap but it has so many good things in it! It would have been great for them.

  • All The Honest Kitchen human grade food has kept my two JR's healthy.

    By on

Our two 10 year old JR's have stayed very healthy on this great food. They love it all so I give them a change regularly. They will lick their pans clean in a minute on any and all the recipes. I had much rather spend the bucks on this quality food than paying the vet for allergy pills and shots, upset stomachs and diarrhea from dry food. They are spayed females and this food keeps them in ideal weight.

  • Great Food

    By on

We have a dog with irrtiable bowl syndrome. We have tried all kinds of foods. He stays on a medication to keep his IBS under control but he was still having problems. We were just about to pay for a colonoscopy when we decided to try this food and we are so glad we did. His problems have diminished and he is feeling so much better. We do use the powder goats milk with this food. The probiotics found in the goats milk we believe is helping also.

  • Mostly powder

    By on

I have been buying honest kitchen for 3 years. They have changed the formula. Contents is a powder with very little flake of chicken or veggies. No longer will I be paying for powder. Not a chewy problem it's an honest kitchen problem. My dogs do not like it.
