Can I feed one formula in the morning and a different one in the evening? or do all the proteins on a rotation??
Answer by ChewyMay 07, 2018
Honest Kitchen formulas can be used in rotation.

Is dehydrated food raw food or cooked food?
Answer by ChewyFeb 08, 2018
In dehydrated pet foods brands will use a commercial dehydrator to add low heat for long periods of time to evaporate the water (moisture) from their ingredients. These particular diets are meant to be rehydrated for best nutritional results. Although the food is lightly cooked, it's not considered cooked due to it's nutritional values but it's depending on the brand it may claim that it's close to raw feeding (this doesn't mean it is).

Where are the ingredients sourced from ? What Country? Not whete produced specifically sourced.
Answer by ChewyMar 02, 2019
The Honest Kitchen sources most of its ingredients in the USA. No ingredients come from China. They source basil and marjoram in Africa. Sweet potatoes, organic quinoa, apples, organic chia seeds, and pumpkin from South America. Bananas, organic coconuts, and papaya come from Asia. All other ingredi ents are either sourced from the USA or Europe.

A world of difference

Our doodle had sooo many allergy issues. She's 6 and I feel guilty that it took me this long to try something like this. This food has made a world of difference in her. She had severe yeast on her ears all the time. She's been on so many medications and allergy shots all her life and was still miserable. She's been on this food for 3 months now and is soooo much better. The smell of her ears would knock you down and it's pretty much gone. That alone is worth it to me. She doesn't keep me and herself up all night scratching anymore. I am so thankful we found this food and can't say enough great things about it so far. I was hesitant at first because it's pricey but so glad I switched!

IBD-Diet Friendly

Our dog was diagnosed with IBD and it took over the course of a year to stabilize her condition. Honest Kitchen limited ingredient diets were easier for her to digest. We prep the meal in advance and let it chill in the fridge, and she loves it. We’ve also feed the limited ingredient base mix with cooked chicken, which she loves. The turkey mix is a little more economical per meal as food prices have risen.

My dog loves this

I've been feeding my 9 yr old Lab the grain free turkey recipe for three years now and he is pretty healthy. He has less joint pain and digestive issues.

Excellent Food

Our Girl has never liked kibble no matter the brand! When I saw this product I decided to give it a try b/c I feel that "kibble type" products would provide nutrients not necessarily available in her multi vitamins and cooked chicken diet she was eating. She likes it and I feel that she is continuing to get good nutritional balance. It mixes up fresh & really tastes good!! We have been very pleased with Honest Kitchen products and this did not disappoint!

After 2 months of exhausting, in-depth research regarding canine gastric workings and evolution, the industrial control that has degraded the dog food quality, and calculations of the costs that I could afford, I have arrived at HK Grain Free Turkey Dehydrated. I tried several, increasingly expensive, excellent kibbles and my rescued 6-year-old Boston Terrier just could not tolerate them. She had IBS issues, stomach growling, voracious thirst, sudden bouts of loose stools, shedding, flatulence, low energy, gland issues, and ‘boogery’ eyes. ALL but the boogery eyes have gone away since switching her to this dehydrated food! I mix it the day before and refrigerate it to give plenty of time for re-hydration. I add a little more warm water before I give it to her. She loves the food. I throw in several small pieces of quality chicken or turkey breast or thighs to up her lean protein. The ‘pudding consistency so many people don’t like is exactly what makes this food perfect; hydrated, pureed food is easier to digest! Decades ago I had a Boston with liver issues; I cooked and pureed all her food; I wish this dehydrated food had existed! I give her hard knuckle bones or bully sticks to gnaw on from time to time to keep her teeth scraped and clean.

The Honest Kitchen Grain Free Turkey is the BEST for diabetics!

I have used THK dehydrated food for almost 10 years. Last year, my Giant Schnauzer Molly, at 10 years, turned Diabetic. I had trouble regulating her blood sugar to give her the proper doses of insulin. I tried the grain free turkey dehydrated food and she absolutely LOVED it. This also helps keep her blood sugar at a better level... my girl is now almost 11 , 109 pounds, and doing great! I LOVE THK food!

It's ok but not a favorite.

I bought this turkey recipe since the base mix I usually buy was out of stock again. It is very pasty compared to the other mix. Very thick, paste like consistency. I use hot water to try to thin it, so it is more palatable for my dog. If I don't, he will eat it in one big gulp. He likes it well enough, but I am not happy with it. Hopefully they will have the base mix back in stock soon.

Our favorite company for dog food!

Thank you so much for offering some Honest Kitchen turkey choices. It's all my dog can eat and it's been SO hard to get my "paws" on some! I hope you are able to keep some in stock. It's healthy and not full of junk and preservatives like so much dog food is. My dog loves the taste and gobbles it right up. It IS mushy but I give him plenty of crunchy, healthy treats throughout the day and I brush his teeth at night. Thank you, Chewy, for selling HK products! :)

Love Honest Kitchen

Goose has esophagus strictures that he's been dealing with his whole life but he has a tendency to choke on kibble. He is doing amazing an honest kitchen dehydrated food. I can make it as wet as I need to for him. He's had no allergies or irritations from it.

Best dog food for my dogs!

My 3 Boston's have been on Honest Kitchen grain-free dehydrated food for approximately 8 years now. One of my girls had such horrible skin issues that I tried everything to help. It was only after putting her on this particular food that she has had no issues now for years. Is it expensive? Yes it is. But the health of my girls is my priority. Of course, I also look at the money I've saved on vet bills.
