    May be saving my little furr baby from repeated infections!!

    I have an older cocker spaniel that has suffered from repeated ear infections that ultimately required surgery on both her ears. She continued to require antibiotics shortly after completing numerous courses of two different antibiotics. I was told her immune system was so hampered she was no longer I have an older cocker spaniel that has suffered from repeated ear infections that ultimately required surgery on both her ears. She continued to require antibiotics shortly after completing numerous courses of two different antibiotics. I was told her immune system was so hampered she was no longer able to fight off these infections and would need antibiotics the rest of her life (Which is against medical advice because immunity to the antibiotic occurs.). I decided to see if a different food would help boost her immunity. The Honest Kitchen, human grade dehydrated dog food seems to be working. She loves it and the only way I could get her last series of antibiotics down her was to bury the pills in this new food. She has been without a recurring infection for almost 2 months now (the longest time in a long time) and I believe it is due to this change in her diet. I am very glad this was available and hopefully this is giving her system the boost needed to fight off the repeated infections. I will be using this (turkey or chicken) from now on. I still have the continuously available dry dog food (a good brand), but have noticed they are not eating it as much and are anxious to get their Honest Kitchen meals. I feed it to them (both dogs) twice a day. I mix the dehydrated food with warm water in the ratios as directed about every 3 days. I keep the mixed food in the refrigerator until it is gone and time to make another batch. … more

    Dogs Don't Care For It

    I wanted a tasty topper for my 3 dogs dry food but they don't like it, they will eventually eat it when they get hungry enough, I don't blame them though the smell is not appetizing it smells very green probably from all the grains they put in it, and all I see when I scoop it out is oatmeal. I don't see or smell any chicken. Last year I purchased the grain free version of this brand, it smelled very tasty and my dogs loved it.
