Awesome food, but NOT for large breed puppies

As a nutritionist I am picky about what my family eats, including the dog :) I ordered this food for my pup and when I received it the label on the back clearly states "Horizon does not recommend feeding Legacy puppy formulation to large breed puppies whose adult weight will be over 75 lbs." I didn't see this when ordering because the writing on the bag label on the Chewy website is SO tiny! I called Chewy and they refunded my money in 5 minutes and led me to another product that would work. 5 stars for great customer service! I will be getting a large breed specific food and the puppies at the local animal shelter will be getting a nice donation.

Gassy puppy?

He seems to like the food but he's been a lot gassier than usual since I made the switch. Maybe it's just him so I'll still give it 4 stars for the great ingredients. The kibble size is a bit big for small breeds though.

Size of food pellet

We have a 5 month old Teddy Bear. We switched from the breeder's recommended brand to Horizon because of on-line research. Our puppy is having issues with the size of the chow. It's much larger than her former food. After one week into giving it to her, we now leave it out all day to ensure she gets enough. This is against vet recommendation to feed her in the morning, and then again at dinner. Not sure we'll stick with this brand.

Quality food my puppy loves

I’ve been feeding this to my 10 month old Havanese for about 6 months and he loves it. It’s very high quality. It’s made in Canada where they have stricter regulations then the U.S. about what’s in their dog and cat food. I tried another similar brand but my pup likes this one a lot more.

When the Chewy box arrived our puppy knew the package had to be for him. He excitedly sniffed waiting for the bag to open and no time was wasted in having a bite! I research pet food for both cats and dogs and this is a top rated product. Not only in flavor but ingredients. -Also like that it is Canadian made.

Puppy seems to Enjoy

I'm feeding this to my miniature dachshund puppy who is not quite 9 weeks old. She seems to enjoy it and her stool quality is good with no issues. She was previously on a brand with grain while at the breeder's and had no issues with a quick switch. This is my first time using this food, and I found out about it on Dog Food Advisor.

My 9 month old Australian cattle dog puppy has been on this food since she was 10 weeks old. The smallest of her litter, Lotus is now a tall lean 40 lbs! I credit Horizon for her excellent health, beautiful coat & high energy. Thank you Chewy for fast delivery & great prices!
