Feeding Instructions

For Adult cats, feed 1 can per 6 - 8 lbs of body weight per day. Kittens require up to 2 and a half times this amount. For pregnant and lactating females, allow free access to food. Adjust the amount of food you serve based on the age, size and activity level of your cat. Food should be fed at room temperature.

Transition Instructions

If you are currently free-feeding a kibble, the first step is to feed your cat at meal times. Put the kibble down for a 20-30 minute time frame for a few days to help your cat recognize that this is feeding time. Yes, your cat will be hungry at these mealtimes if they have been used to grazing all day long, but this step will help in the transition.

Once these meal times are established, then try introducing canned food. Your cat will either like it and your transition took no time at all, or you may have to keep trying to entice the cat. If your cat will not eat the canned food you have offered, try putting some kibble on the top to entice the cat. If that doesn’t work, feed kibble and try a different protein at the next mealtime. It may take a while – a few day or a few weeks – for your cat to realize that this is food, but remember that you are doing it to better your cats health.

    Good product

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I buy other H &G wet food and thought I'd give the pork a try. They liked pork I bought at a boutique pet store so I thought I'd give this one from chewy a try. It was a success.

    Dented Cans

    By on

The worst dented cans I've ever seen. Had to throw out half of the case. Some dirty on the top. My cat seems to do well on this new food, but he's seems hungrier than usual, as if this doesn't fill him up as much as other brands. Given the conditions of the cans, will either try another brand or buy local.

My cats did not enjoy this flavor

    By on Top 250 Contributor

Apart from sniffing the food and licking to taste it, my cats would not eat it. However, this flavor was a hit with the feral colony. They seemed to really enjoy it.

Favorite Food for cat in Stage 3-4 Renal Failure

    By on

Since Honey was diagnosed with stage 3-4 renal failure, she's lost her appetite. She also had all of her teeth removed the end of 2018. This is her favorite food. We mix with turkey bone broth to hydrate and she's now gaining weight and feeling much better. She hated all the prescription food.

    Just So-So

    By on

Vet recommended this for our Momma cat who has Bartonella (cat scratch fever). Well, so far, it has been accepted just so-so. Have a case of it and we shall see; otherwise, it will be donated.

    From finicky to foodie

    By on

I don't even eat 4-legged mammals!! But I'll feed it to my obligate carnivores. After years of eating turkey or salmon, I tried pork ever since Karl (boy cat), the finicky eater, became a culinary adventurer. Both cats love it.
