Feeding Instructions

For Adult cats, feed 1 can per 6 - 8 lbs. of body weight per day.

Kittens require up to 2 and a half times this amount. For pregnant and lactating females, allow free access to food. Adjust the amount of food you serve based on the age, size and activity level of your cat. Food should be fed at room temperature. Promptly refrigerate the unused portion.

Transition Instructions

If you are currently free-feeding a kibble, the first step is to feed your cat at meal times. Put the kibble down for a 20-30 minute time frame for a few days to help your cat recognize that this is feeding time. Yes, your cat will be hungry at these mealtimes if they have been used to grazing all day long, but this step will help in the transition.

Once these meal times are established, then try introducing canned food. Your cat will either like it and your transition took no time at all, or you may have to keep trying to entice the cat. If your cat will not eat the canned food you have offered, try putting some kibble on the top to entice the cat. If that doesn’t work, feed kibble and try a different protein at the next mealtime. It may take a while – a few day or a few weeks – for your cat to realize that this is food, but remember that you are doing it to better your cats health.

Non-Picky Eaters Wouldn't Eat This Flavor

    By on

Both of my kitties are not that picky and I have had good luck with the beef and lamb flavors of this food, but they are not enjoying this unfortunately! But, the quality of the brand is good, so my only advice would be to not buy a case unless you are sure your cats will like it.

    A kitty favorite

    By on

We had heard good things about this brand so we started with the most reasonably priced flavor, the beef. The beef was not a hit but the gamebird was a big success. It is more expensive than average, but all five cats eat it well. There is no waste plus it has a nice flavor variety. We rotate protein flavors and brands for the cats and this one will definitely stay in the mix.

    Took awhile to like it

My cats took a month to like this. It’s now not available which is annoying. It’s also very expensive to maintain purchasing.

    Not the best

    By on

I thought this was a great buy and I liked the ingredients the food contained. Only 1 of my cats has enjoyed this food. The pate is not moist at all and I think that's the issue. I added some water one day and that didn't help, the cats still didn't take to it. I wish there was a smaller package or a trial offer because I'm always looking for new food .

    Great Quality

    By on

I'm so impressed with the ingredients of this food. Glad it was on sale so I could try it out for my cats. I'm trying to stick to giving only food that has "cooling/neutral" proteins (which is very hard to find) to my cat with seizures. It wasn't their favorite, but they don't hate it. They usually eat it, its just that they get tired of it sometimes. I'll keep buying it if I see it on sale, and give it to them a few times a week!

    Gamebird food

Inside cats won't touch it. Outside feral cats eat almost everything I put out there.

Great Product But 60% Increase In Price!

    By on

The Game Bird was a huge hit at our house and all of the furbies can eat it (health issues) but the 60% price increase is insane! Especially since the dog formula stayed the same!!! When asked why I was told cost of ingredients and market value. Guess it was too popular?? It's sad because our selection has once again been narrowed
