My dog loves it
I was feeding my dog blue basic lamb for 2 years and he stop eating it. I decided this brand and I never see. My dog get so exited or finish his food so quickly.
My dog's favorite food.
My dog actually recognizes the bag and gets excited whenever we get Hound and Gatos. He seems to know it's designed specially for hounds and their sensitive stomachs.
Excellent Dry Food
Seems to be very helpful with dermatitis, both dogs love it (they're usually very picky with dry food), good coat, good poops, healthy weight. Very pleased so far.
My dog goes crazy for this!
My dog eats both breakfast and dinner everyday..we used to give him Purina Pro Plan and he got bored of it so we actually started giving him this one. Ever since he started eating this, he has been obsessed! He'll literally jump and try and reach the bowl that's in my hand. He used to skip breakfast with Purina Pro Plan but whenever he smells Hound & Gatos, he'll eat it all in seconds.
Great quality food
Limited ingredients and high quality!! I have a few working dogs on this food and after feeding 3 bags I decided to write a review. I am impressed with the results from this brand and will continue ordering. The dogs look great, nice muscle build, no digestive issues, firm stools. I wont name other high end brands we used prior to this but they were higher priced or almost even with Hound & Gatos. This food is much better quality and I highly recommend it.
Quality dry dog food
Great recipe with even better ingredient list. Will be looking for the same formula with grain in the future. My dog loved eating every last bit!
Favorite Dry Food so far
I was shocked. I tend to change food every time as my dogs will eat it eventually but are very picky. I keep saying “when they get hungry they’ll eat it”. I got two bowls of dry food: hound and gatos, and the other one with Kirkland salmon food. I put it in front of my dog and kept switching the bowls, moving them... and he kept going to Hound & Gatos lamb recipe. It might seem on the expensive side but it’s definitely worth it. I like to mix it up with some cooked food if I have time to make it but I love the ingredients, I love the packaging and I love how much my babies like this dry food. A definitive buy again!
Finally no peas!
So glad to find a dog food with NO PEAS, CHICKPEAS, BEANS etc! It's so annoying to find vegetable protein fillers instead of animal protein. I wish this one had an even higher percentage of animal protein than 27%, but ok. Dogs love it.
Pups love it!
I have a 4 year old German Shepherd x Pitbull mix and an 11 month old Belgian Malinois. My German shepherd mix Zeke has a laundry list of allergies so im always looking for different limited ingredient foods. This one specifically he still is unable to eat due to his egg allergy but I did let him try some. I sat a bowl of this and their current food in front of both of them and surprisingly both of them sniffed their current food then immediately went for the hounds & gatos food! My belgian malinois does not have any allergies at all and is able to eat the food without issue. She absolutely loves the flavor and even with switching foods it did not upset her tummy! The amount of quality ingredients is definitely worth the price in my opinion. My only concern is the serving size recommendations. With my malinos she currently eats 4 cups of her current foos(which is a low calorie food) and this one suggests a total of 2 cups a day. I have not had a chance to research the calorie differences between the brands but I would assume that means this food contains more calories(which can be good for high energy dogs like her)
We love this food!
This food is amazing! Our dogs love it so much! I am super happy they use ancient grains instead of making the food grain free! I also love that it’s limited ingredients as our pup has skin allergies and this food works well for her! The dogs are always excited for meal time!
