The back length should be measured from the withers (not the collar) to the base of the tail, while the dog is standing in normal position.
-
The neckline measurement should be taken at the base of the neck, this being the widest point of the neck. The neckline of an overall can be larger than the circumference of the dog's neck, as it can be adjusted to fit a smaller neck.
-
The chest measurement should be taken at the widest point of the chest, from behind the front legs. To ensure sufficient freedom of movement, the chest of an overall should be 2-8 inches wider than the dog's chest.
-
The front leg length should be measured from the bottom of the rib cage along the inner side of the leg to the wrist bone. The legs of an overall are of an appropriate length when they reach down to the dog's forearms.

Warm hard to put on
By pipset on Dec 24, 2021
It seems very warm as an under layer. Its also very adjustable which is nice. It runs a little big I think But not the easiest thing in the world to put on. Especially on a fidgety younger dog. I was a bit confused & it took me a good 20 mins to get on her. The zipper is in the top of the dog which makes it difficult to keep each leg in the sleeve as your putting the other 4 legs in. Maybe I just need to get used to it & use it a few more times. The back legs seem like they may come loose & she'll step on them. I think I got a size too big but she's still young 1.5yrs so there is room to grow. Great as an underlayer. I would recommend if your dog can stand still while you figure it out & put It seems very warm as an under layer. Its also very adjustable which is nice. Awkward sizing, fantastic functionality
By Noelle on Dec 17, 2021
My dog is a large whippet - 40 lbs, 22" long from withers, 26" chest. I ordered a 22L after reading other reviews. Despite the adjustment strings, it did not solve the sizing issue on his front half (but did make for a perfect fit for the waist). When my dog runs, it does not seem to bother him or affect his gait. The suit is thin, but seems to do an incredible job at trapping body heat. The material feels comfortable and rejects debris. My favorite aspect of the design is the back zipper, which allows for easy fitting and removal - no more uncomfortable gymnastics for the dog! So while I don't like how it looks, it allows him to do all the things dogs should be able to do and keeps him sufficiently My dog is a large whippet - 40 lbs, 22" long from withers, 26" chest. poor fit, cheap zipper
By disappointed on Feb 8, 2022
I read some reviews so I sized up when I ordered and still the fit is tight. The zipper as mentioned in another review, pulls apart. This is thye second item I've bought that is Hurtta brand that did not fit properly after following the sizing instructions.

Buyer Beware of Zipper
By Teddy on Jan 12, 2022
Put it on my 7 pound dog over a 2 week period to wear as a layer and zipper split last time he wore it. Was able to pull down but the zipper slider body and pull tab just zipped off and now it wont zip since I cant put it back together.

Fantastic Product

My girl is aging and has been an athlete all her life. I put this on her for a few hours each day and it seems to keep her muscles warm and happy. Great product

Too small for my dog
By Clare on Jan 18, 2022
I measured my dog according to the instructions, and unfortunately it’s too small to zipper fully. I plan to size up next time.

Great for leaner dogs!
By Beck on May 9, 2021
Bought this for my border collie mix for transitional seasons and winter. He’s super lean, but very active so I needed something that would allow natural movement. I have yet to be disappointed with any purchases of Hurtta. I bought this a little bigger than recommended so he could grow into a bit, it was easy to temporarily alter with a few thread closures added where needed.

Hurtta Body Warmer Dog Bodysuit, Carbon Grey, 14S
By Cara on Mar 7, 2021
My elderly, arthritic Shih Tzu likes this bodysuit and comes eagerly to have it put on when he sees it in my hand after I wash it. It fits him very well, is nice and snug, and isn't too hard to put on a cooperative dog, though I think it would be nearly impossible to put on a squirming one. I would give it five stars, but it does creep a little low on the belly over time, and if I don't check every time and adjust it right before we go out, he pees into the belly of the suit (this might not be an issue for every dog, and is probably based on the dog's size and shape). The suit appears to stay intact nicely when put through the wash, so I bought a second in order to have one always available My elderly, arthritic Shih Tzu likes this bodysuit and comes eagerly to have it put on when he sees it in my hand after I wash it. Great Jammies!
By PattiThePetsitter on Mar 9, 2021
I bought this for my Smooth Fox Terrier to help keep her warm while inside but yet light enough to wear under her coat to go outside in extreme weather. It fits her quite well with the 3 adjustable pull cords for a custom fit! I bought 1 size up to help give her shoulder's freedom of movement as she hates to feel restricted in any way! She doesn't like sweaters for that very reason, they restrict her by virtue of the way Foxies are built. Also I love the long "gater" type neck covering that also adjusts to help keep her warm! Great one piece suit!!!

Tucker looks adorable; fit is perfect
By DaisysMom on Feb 16, 2021
After reading reviews I got the size 14 for my rat terrier/Jack Russell mix who measures 15” from neck to base of tail. The fit is perfect. He doesn’t love wearing it quite yet - he’s not accustomed to having something on his legs and just stands there when it’s on, rather than playing. When we go to the park, however, he sprints though the snow wearing this in combination with the Hurtta extreme warmer coat. It is so nice to know he is warm and dry enough to play outside in any weather. His sprinting makes it clear this suit and the coat don’t limit his mobility in any way, and both stay in place despite the vigorous play. Definitely a winner - going to buy another for my bigger dog After reading reviews I got the size 14 for my rat terrier/Jack Russell mix who measures 15” from neck to base of tail.
