Exceeded expectations - best least ever!
I was wary of the price of this leash but based on the description and the materials listed I decided to give it a shot. It’s well worth it! Very sturdy, good looking leash. Keeps my 60 lb pittie girl well managed and after just a few months use it already feels like it will last much longer than other leashes we’ve worn out. Stays clean and the metal attachments are solid and haven’t tarnished. I will say it’s quite long so be aware of that.
clip came off
I got this to use with a prong collar and it was comfortable and worked fine until tonight. At the end of our walk the clip came off the collar and I don’t know why. Luckily we were in front of the house so she just ran over to harass the neighbor and came back. But there is a storm coming in and fireworks soon so if we had been in another part of the neighborhood or near the road it could have been bad. Maybe it’s fine with a thicker ring but I’m not comfortable using it anymore unfortunately.

when i first received the leash i thought it would hold up well with my pit mix. It seemed to be made out of quality material. It was great for a while but my pit then chewed right through it when i left her in the back seat of my car with it for 5-6min.
I want to love it
The quality is clearly excellent and it’s a fine leash but just isn’t anything special in terms of performance. For my 7 month old pointer, our bungee leash works best for hiking. Perhaps he will grow into this leash and we’ll have more use for it once he is full grown.

Finally a 100% cotton leash with metal connector parts that won't rust, hallelujah!! I have searched high and low for a leash that was 100% cotton. My dog (black lab) will often pull on the leash if she sees a person she knows coming toward us and especially if the person has a dog that she knows. There have been times when I have had to drop the leash and let her greet the person/dog without me holding the leash, just so she would not pull me down. Mind you she is a puppy ... not yet 3, a BIG black lab at 75 lbs, and full of puppy exuberance. I know that she will grow out of the crazy pulling, but until she does I need a leash that does not slip through my grip (& cause little paper-cut-like cuts on my hands). I have tried several and every time I have ordered one (not from Chewy), I have been disappointed. Each one usually has the same 1 or 2 things wrong with it... (1) The connectors (where leash handle turns into straightaway portion of the leash and again befor the leash connects to the clip) are made of plastic and they break after hitting the ground a few times. (2) The rope is not 100% cotton and is mixed with nylon (like ropes for boats), which makes them slip through your hands very easily. I like to wrap the leash around my hand at least once so I have good hold of my big girl. I could not do that with the slippery leashes. Finally I found a leash that doesn't have plastic or leather connecters (they are powder coated) metal so they won't rust or break. The leash itself is made of good old fashioned cotton, the material best used to make rope (in mho). I cannot say enough that is good about this leash. It is by far superior to all of the ones I have tried before (and no exaggeration, I've probably tried 15-20). If you want a good quality leash, look no farther and get this one. You won't regret it.
